Pedal covers and footrest

Hi group, I find the driver's footrest too high and really uncomfortable on my ankle and knee, I have long legs.
Has anyone removed or know if it's possible to remove the footrest.
Also, I would like to replace my peddle covers with a metal finish, has anyone found a set that fits, do ZS covers fit.

You could try looking at AliExpress. They seem to peddle a lot of stuff for Chinese autos and may peddle pedal covers/tops for the MG.
