MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Thing is though - if they are batch building say 5000 black trophy…to meet 4900 orders (some of which may have been placed in November, some places last week ). There will obviously be enough to go around to everyone irrespective of when anyone ordered - so - it will be a shorter wait for some and a longer wait for others.

Granted, but the time it takes to fulfil this theoretical batch of 5000 cars is months... and should still be allocated/delivered in the order to which they were ordered. It's why people pre-order things before release date, to get them before anyone else.If I knew that MG would be delaying delivery until September at the earliest I would not have ordered the ZS and I would not have sold my current car... the delays are causing people massive inconvenience, I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't really need a second car in the family but there are people who have lease deals expiring or they have a real need for a second car.

I would agree with your statement if all 5000 cars were delivered at the same time, but in reality that is not how it happens.
 
Bit of good news on my part, I have just spoken to my Dealer (Baylis Gloucester) and my ZS LR Trophy in black was put back again from July to August, I asked the salesman about other colour options and they told me that they have 1 white ZS LR Trophy coming in the next 10-14 days which I have just put my name down against in place of my black on. I will let you know if this does come to fruition or not but fingers crossed for me (I ordered on November 21st) I should have a new ZS EV LR Trophy in white within 3 weeks :)

Hope you could get it.

But its seems like contray from what Miles said on podcast. Like MG won't allow ghost order and won't allow/almost impossible to swap due to people queuing for longer.

Sounds like this white is a ghost order.

Fingers crossed for you buddy! It'll be both nice, and a bit jealousy-inducing to see a ZS Trophy driving about in Gloucester! There won't be many - so I'll know it's probably you :) !!

I try not to call them too much, but the last update I had about my Dec 4th Blue Trophy was that it'll be August 27th, but I don't think that was a fixed date.

Not necessarily - it could be a cancelled order, which I'm fairly sure a dealer could just re-assign to someone else.

Yeah just had another call from them to ask about whether my deposit/partx has changed, to which I informed them that no partx anymore, just cold hard cash lol. Business manager is going to start processing the finance tomorrow :) staying on the 4.9% too luckily

Find it very hard to believe that a dealership would be willing to "swap" a used MG5 LR (which is cheaper then the ZS EV LR new) that will technically have had 2 owners (as was an ex demo) and "some" mileage for a brand new ZS EV lol... that makes no sense from a business point of view especially when they aren't short of customers for these cars. If it is true, and they are going to be swapping it then fair play to Rockjaw, that is an absolute solid deal on their part

it's actually not that complicated. I've bought the m5 pay the monthly pcp they give me 6k equity into my bank on my pxchange. No deposit on the Mg5. When the zs arrives I give them back the mg5 they have worked it so it should balance out on the finance to pay off the loan on the MG5. I get the deal I was given back in January for the ZS put the 6k into the Zs. Happy days. It works out cheaper than keeping my 2 year old Fiesta ST3 and banging £160 a month in petrol.

Excellent. I think some people forget that a lot of “buyers” are in fact renting the cars they drive in. This can make more sense, particularly as EVs are advancing so quickly.

Thats a pretty sweet deal to be fair mate, kudos for arranging that one :) and fair play to your dealership for being so good about it all.
