Nasty Moment at a Pod Point

It was AC, and I tried to stop it in the app, but couldn't find any option to do so. In fact the only option in the app (for those chargers) is 'confirm charge'; I even tried clicking on that to see if more options would come up, but it just said something like 'unable to confirm, already charging'.

Lock and unlock with the key and pull the connector out as soon as you hear it unlatch. I use a free AC point at work daily and sometimes it doesn't want to let go, just have to lock and unlock again to get it to behave. I don't think it's unique to the MG either.

Keep it simple, by getting into the habit of heading straight to the front of the car when returning to it, then unlock the car with the fob and then remove the charging lead straight away.
I do this at home as well.
A short delay, will end in the car relocking itself and the cable becoming locked into the charging post, as others have said.

I took the screw on cover off just to have a nosey, and as a practice run in case I needed to in the future.
Whilst there I attached a cable/string to the emergency release and fed it through the gap where the washer bottle top sticks out and secured it there. Should I need this in the future it's just a simple process now to pull it without having to removing the cover.
This TIP (not a HACK 😩) was given by someone else in the early days of the forum so I take no credit for it but happy to pass it on. :)
I had a look myself but seeing the fan there it put me off, is a good idea though.

Been a while since I had the cover off, but I don't recall a fan being an issue.

This was the original thread with photos (albeit not particularly helpful re a fan)

From the Pod Point website FAQ.👴

Don't think its an issue but it would always be on my mind, 🤯😂

Had my first ever lock on today.

As usual, went out to the car, clicked unlock on the key, car unlocked, charger stayed locked on & charging! Tried multiple times to release it but it would not release, just kept charging.

Ended up having to stop it at the Zappi end then it unlocked.

Nothing any different than normal. Glad I installed the string option under the bonnet :)

Were you on type 2 lead or the ccs lead. I think on ccs you have to stop charge on the charger first.

Unlock the car and open a door, that seems to stop it relocking the plug in.

I could release lead once tried everything then realised my wife had powered up to open window and sunroof.Switched off and key unlocked charger 🙄
