Peace,
I have had a MG EHS car for close to 4 months,
I have already traveled close to 9000 kilometers.
I drive almost exclusively on the electric motor, I have short trips during the day and I have the option to charge the vehicle at work,
and this is in order to save fuel that today the price has skyrocketed.
My question is is it safe not to use the petrol engine for a long time?
Will it harm him?

thanks..

Sounds like you have the wrong car!
Like any other ICE car, the engine will benefit from an occasional extended run. It needs to get up to full operating temperature and ideally stay there for a while. A short motorway run is probably best.

Will a trip of 5-7 kilometers a day at a speed of 100 km / h be enough?

I don’t even think it needs to be that frequent, perhaps one trip every couple of weeks of c10km + to ensure the engine is up to temperature and keep the oil flowing

The main risk of doing this over a longer period is the fuel. If using standard E10, it can attract water and/or Gel up (though the pressurised fuel tank makes this a lesser risk.

I "test" my ICE every 2-4 weeks. When starting the ice after this long, do not start it while moving as this will suddenly put a large load on a engine that hasn't had oil flow for a long time. Instead, start the engine by requesting it to heat the cabin, leave it for 30 seconds, drive off, then turn off the heat off if not required.

Thanks for the advice, I will do so.

I agree, run the petrol engine at least monthly for a 5 mile run. I have a similar issue as mostly do short trips but it’s still the right car. We only run one car and every few months do long trips which I have no patience’s to do in an EV until infrastructure is sorted and charge time is 10 mins
