MG4 Trophy + Ohme Home Pro + Intelligent Octopus

Yeah, you can limit charging in 10% increments (so 90% for example if you felt so inclined) However... I have found mine has a habit of 'forgetting' the setting and defaulting to 100%, so it's a habit now to check the app, don't always have to re-set it to 80% but 'most' of the time I'd say...

Speed Limiter / Cruise Control access

Yeah, I think it only does it with the speed limiter mode selecting when exiting/locking the car, ACC persists. And yes it's a very weird choice, or bug :p

    MG4 Software Update Thread

Lots of people have paid upfront for FSD :/ Like upto $15k in some cases for a product that doesn't exist yet and almost certainly for those owners never will be applicable to their car...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

I believe it is based on a couple of previous posts mixed in with the non-update chat. Be interested to hear if you get/got R46 and your experiences with it, especially around the BT pairing issues (if you experienced those on whatever previous version you had)... I reported my BT issues to the...

MG4 Trophy + Ohme Home Pro + Intelligent Octopus

I'm not on facebook but it seems a little odd (and like I said it works for me), I can see the point in the time schedule being disabled in the car, but not sure about the 80% cap, and certainly can't be bothered to work out how much kWh I need :p

MG4 Trophy + Ohme Home Pro + Intelligent Octopus

Sorry, no, I mean the iSmart app, I set that to 80% charge and Ohme is just to 'full charge'

MG4 Trophy + Ohme Home Pro + Intelligent Octopus

I've succesfully done mine with the 80% cap via the app as well btw, being a trophy it's more common than the full 100% charge...

Phase 1 vs Phase 2 - same cost which would you have?

Personally I'd probably lean towards phase 1 (Trophy), reasoning is basically: Aesthetically it looks (subjectively) better: Mine is Orange so the black roof, I think the phase 1 aero covers look better than the phase 2 18's. I've never had an issue with the lack of rear wiper (on this car or...

MG4 Trophy + Ohme Home Pro + Intelligent Octopus

Personally I've not had that issue, I've plugged in with ~35% and the App has given me a schedule with 4+ blocks and by the morning it's at 100% so presumably started/stopped as requested without issue... Fingers crossed it's a one-off for you :/

MG4 Trophy + Ohme Home Pro + Intelligent Octopus

With intelligent octopus they determine when to charge based on overall network load, having the schedule in the car will presumably block that. Recently I've started getting a 'schedule' when I plug the car in, sometimes seeing it'll start charging for 15/30 min chunks as early as 16:30

    Should I power off

I have one of those overly-paranoid 'RFID pouches' so need to get the key out the bag, and out of the pouch, before I can open the boot, sorted :D

    Should I power off

Not quite the same but I play golf and so often loading/unloading stuff from the boot Recently I've started locking it between opening the boot, if that makes sense... So when I leave to go to golf I open the boot without unlocking the car to put my clubs in, then close the boot walk around to...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

I think when I've seen it it's based on that time limit @Rolfe mentions but I rarely use it in traffic so not entirely sure. I've also seen the auto-hold switch to handbrake after a period of time stationary as well, also mentioned in the manual but only seen it once...

How are everyones batteries doing? (Fairer weather range thread)

Definitely, I've been regularly/easily getting >4m/kWh recently, I think todays short trips were ~4.1 ish. App currently says 207 miles range at 77%, only done short trips without caring about efficiency since the last charge.

MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

There's definitely a few around, had my Orange just over a month and seen pretty much all colours around in various places... Oddly today I passed the window on my landing to see a Blue one drive past my house, they're everywhere :ROFLMAO:

    annoying stuff

Firstly, as mentioned, I would not rely on autohold when getting out of the car, at the very least put the handbrake on although I'd just put it back in park. But, saying that, I found out the other day that autohold doesn't work/enable if you don't have your seatbelt on... Confused me for a...

    MG4 Range

Seems my MG4 Trophy is loving the spring... I picked up the car about a month ago and in the first few hundred miles of general driving, often with the heating on set to ~23c (didn't feel that hot :p) I was getting around 3.5-3.8m/kWh. Last week or so I've either had the HVAC off entirely or...

    Inefficient charging cable

For a bit more information the difference is AC vs DC, upto 22kW chargers use AC which needs a charger/inverter in the car to convert to DC before charging the battery, in the case of the MG4 Trophy this is limited to 11kW (before losses) as mentioned. 50kW+ chargers are DC and don't rely on...
