    Another good charging station

No I haven't, that area isn't normally one I visit and we don't have any of their stations around and about us. Might have to enable it anyway just in case

    Failed Gridserv/ABB charging in MG4

I've now tried 10 Gridserve sites and not had one successful charge. Normally recognises it's connected to the car but then sits there for a few minutes telling me it's starting up but never does. Tried there old and new hardware and it just doesn't seem to like me so for now I avoid Gridserve sites

    Another good charging station

Stopped at the FastNed station just outside Felixstow at the park & ride today. All covered which was great as it’s a little wet. Solar on the roof and great initial speeds trailing off to 70kW at 65%

Got to try MFG chargers and was impressed with the set-up

You might not have too long to wait, apparently Shell are now looking at rolling out stations similar to the one in Fulham I posted a picture of recently by 2025

To be fair a canopy there would destroy wonderful scenery

Got to try MFG chargers and was impressed with the set-up

Although the canopy isn't great it would keep a fair bit off in a heavy downpour and lets face it it's better than most out there. As it's attached to an existing ICE petrol station there is coffee, food and toilets available and just across the road is a shopping centre

    Tesco stupid parking restrictions

3 hours, you're lucky. Our local Tesco is 1.5hrs and Sainsburys 1hr. Will not be shopping at Sainsburys again as the last trip, plugged into the free Pod Point and went off to do our weekly shop. A few weeks ago I got a £100 parking charge for overstaying. Waste of time Tesco & Sainsburys having...

Got to try MFG chargers and was impressed with the set-up

Went down to Eastbourne yesterday and before returning home decided to go get a charge. Had a look at was available and there only seemed to be 1 provider of 150kW+ chargers, MFG, and as I'd never used the network before I thought I'd give them a go. Bonus was they are also part of the...

Two week trip to Spain, just a few thoughts

Apologies I missed that bit out. I just used A Better Route Planner, great for planning the stops but has quite a few shortfalls as a satnav when you’re not on motorways and it really suffered in Madrid as it couldn’t cope with the multiple splits in off ramps.

Two week trip to Spain, just a few thoughts

Out of all the networks I preferred Wenea as they were the most trouble free and the app works well, I did use Acciona as they were the chargers in Chapinaria where my partners mother lives and they were OK. Enel were quite good too, I used a couple of them.

Two week trip to Spain, just a few thoughts

Well after a 3500 journey, in which the car behaved impeccably on the whole, I thought I'd note down a few things I found. So lets start with the car, as I said on the whole it was very well behaved with a couple of minor exceptions. ACC doesn't like overtaking lorries and I had many occasions...

Stopped at a great charging hub today

ENGIE - A1 Aire de Ressons Ouest (direction Paris) Right outside the entrance to the cafe and shop. Lots of different places to sit and relax inside and out.

    A Tad Concerned......

i think you need to put them down to a mixture of teething problems and human error. OK so I’ve only had my Trophy for 4 weeks but have already clocked up 1500 miles, 560 of them today, with another 800 to go in the next couple of days. I also have to solely rely on Public Charging as I have...

Guess-o-meter calculations. What is your true range and how much you should trust the car's Algo.

I have and have been relying on it for the last 5 years when I didn't bother with having a car, for trips where I needed one I used to use zipcar or enterprise car club but those have now been replaced by the MG. At the moment the car only gets used once during the week for the shop and weekends...

Guess-o-meter calculations. What is your true range and how much you should trust the car's Algo.

for journeys around my area I get 4.7 - 4.8 but then again nearly every road is 20mph but you are lucky if you get above 15mph just down to the sheer volume of traffic. On motorways journeys I'm getting 3.4 - 3.6 depending on how heavy footed I feel

    Fully Charged wants your opinions

My partners nephew is currently at college in Madrid studying to become an EV technician/mechanic. He's already been told that he is allowed no where near the car when we go down in a couple of weeks 😁

Thwarted by iSmart gosh dang it

It's all about balance at the end of the day. Most of the EV owners in my area don't have access to home charging so LBHF have been very considerate in their approach to public charging to give a good spread of fast, medium and slow charging options and the providers have also been accommodating...

Thwarted by iSmart gosh dang it

It's funny that Hammersmith & Fulham are so ahead of the game with public chargers, nearly 3000 now, but I guess it's because they went out and did it on their own and did the deals with the suppliers. If anyone is interested in the process, on a high level, here's a link to one of the...

Thwarted by iSmart gosh dang it

All Booths had to do is give the charger company a x years licence to use the space for the 4 bays. The charger company normally pays for all of the install, planning, wiring upgrade costs etc. Booths probably get a small % cut of the income.
