I had exactly the same problem 2 weeks ago and this thread was really helpful. I spoke with my MG garage, followed the advice of driving 20 miles over 50mph and, of course, it made no difference. I was aware that it had also been misfiring for a few months. MG garage couldn't get it booked in...
