The MG4 SE 1100R33 Infotainment Thread

Happens in my Trophy, really annoying. Though I think in the latest update I had (1300R46) the fan speed doesn't do it any more, but I'd have to double check.

MG4 Trophy map update – BEWARE

Isn't the Nav software separate from the infotainment. It is listed in the car with a different version number.

    In car acceleration sound

I disabled the "enhanced" sounds through the bodywork in my Golf R as I preferred the natural engine sound (albeit a bit quiter), and told the tuner not to add those artificial overrun pops and bangs that everyone has now. But then sadly I wasn't 20 anymore :(

    MG4 USB ports?

You can put media files on a USB stick to play in the car - remember when we used to do that!

    MG4 USB ports?

Afaik no one has got the USB-C socket to charge a phone, at least not at any useful rate. I just plugged a two port USB charger in the 12V socket, you can have a much power as you want then.

    VIN number not found

It is a country specific requirement to display it. I know UK and USA vehicles have to, but I don't think most European countries do.

MG4 Trophy map update – BEWARE

I think the magic happens in file_verification file. That contains a long hash code (340+ characters), I suspect the hash is generated using your VIN as the seed, making it unique to your car. Easy way to tell is for a couple of people to post the contents of that file, if they are different...

    VIN number not found

Everyone's VIN is displayed on the car for everyone else to see, so I don't know what the problem would be. I find it annoying that the iSmart app blocks out the VIN to you after you've logged in with a username/password, but everyone walking down the street can read it off the car!

MG4 Trophy map update – BEWARE

I've not noticed particularly more chargers at first glance. It still doesn't have the chargers at my local Sainsbury's

You CAN road trip an SE SR

I see the same in the app after Tesla opened up that raft of chargers.

    MG4 Software Update Thread

You can do it from the engineering menu, and there is no password protection. I sat in the car and watched mine being updated once.

Can there ever be enough DC chargers?

I've spent far too many days in that hotel!

    locking the car

You will find a few posts where people's door handle buttons become unreliable or stop working. It seems to be a common weakness. My drivers door button started needing more than one press to work and eventually packed in altogether. The door handle is being replaced under warranty, but there...

EV opposition in the media is ramping up

The article is reusing photos "posted by locals", so find the original post and you may have a chance of higher res. image. Good luck with that! I don't know the iPace interior, but the rear seat is probably a bench type seat like the MG, and may also have been disturbed by the fire brigade.

Reg plate is in the last picture. ?? 63 XGE Wreck wheel, and i-Pace OEM wheel.

EV opposition in the media is ramping up

That wheel looks like it could have been a Jaguar I-Pace, I can't make out the start of the registration plate.

    USB phone charging

The USB-C port supplies very little power, probably not enough to charge a phone, certainly not mine. Just put a multiport USB charger in the 12 V socket and get decent charge rates for two phones.

Can there ever be enough DC chargers?

My friend with a Kia EV6 tried the BP Pulse chargers near Manchester airport. Nightmare, took 15 minutes faffing around before it finally started a charge. Then it peaked at 80 kW (no other charger in use) when it was rated at 150 kW.
