Sorry for the late reply John. dangerous only in the way that no one wants to wait days for the network provider to attend and replace a fuse. Better to gat a 100 A cartridge fitted from the outset.
Solar to me looks like it's being slightly over sold. Checking out the Loop energy app before you take the plunge. Projected saves for us in July last was £5/month and around 80p in a typical Winter month. So at 66 my kids may benefit !
As Bam Bam implied I agree batteries alone, and an EV...
I've left a dongle plugged in to our MG ZS TLR since June last (23) [9 months]. Works great with Car Scanner and with auto off, no sign of battery drain.

As summer is coming all I'd do if t was our ZS is to check the status of the 12v now and then via iSmart. Keep the charge of the traction battery between 20 and 80%.
The foam rubber trapped between the front doors and the frame always comes free in the ZS, I've had to poke mine back more than once.
Strange that clear, clean water appears to still be present in the photos as if it happened just before the photos were taken !
If you stay with BGas, and have BGas smart meter and, an Hive charger with their EV tariff you could get your kWh rate down to under 5p from mid-night to 5am. and just under 9p to run your white goods.
Some will say IO from Octopus is far better, that it maybe, but BGas is working for us.
You may be charged for non-safety or 'cosmetic' updates. As Miles has told us, an update can take up to 15 minutes to install, and one at time the costs can soon mount.
The only thing you can do is seek out another dealer and stay cool !
Sure it won't make any difference, but discount the 12V battery for a few minutes.
