At what SOC is one pedal driving available?

I also agree. As for OPD, Leaf (ePedal) is much better. I was also quite surprised when I discovered that MG4 OPD does not work in reverse. I was shocked. I later bought the Tesla Y (whose OPD is comparable to the Leaf). But the MG4 also has its advantages (V2L, quieter driving on bumpy roads...

    Driving with one pedal

I agree. But there's another problem that shocked me when I test drove the MG4. The OPD cannot be engaged in reverse gear. It was "What??? OMG!! ..." moment. ;) Also, similar problems with the undertray, as already reported in this forum, can be seen in the picture below.

    One Pedal Driving

Of course I believe you, why shouldn't I? I was only talking about stopping the car only by regen, let's say on some mild slope. This is impossible, since braking torque by regen is zero at zero speed. This is physics. You need friction, whether it is called brake or Auto Hold. Of course...

    One Pedal Driving

Let me rephrase the question. Can Tesla and MG stop on a downhill slope with one pedal (without touching the brakes)? The Leaf can. I think Tesla should be able to do it too. If it only uses regen, it can't stop the car on a slope. Why is that the case? When it stops, the braking force is zero...

    One Pedal Driving

It was written that your car did not come to a full stop with OPD. But then it is not an OPD, because the OPD should replace the brakes for non-critical braking (OPD is a mix of regenerative and classic braking). If higher deceleration is required, the normal brake pedal should of course be...

    One Pedal Driving

A full stop has nothing to do with recuperation. You always need physical brakes for a full stop. So this already exists in the OPD. The level of recuperation depends on the SOC. It does now. Do you really believe that the maximum degree of recuperation is the same at 87 % SOC or 50 % SOC? I...

    One Pedal Driving

The price cannot be the reason. Use weaker recuperation for higher SOC. There is nothing to add which is not already available (SW or HW). Are they any other cars having 1-pedal driving and not permitting 1-pedal driving at higher SOC?

    One Pedal Driving

This is really strange. Why it isn't possible to switch it on at higher SOC or very cold weather? 1-pedal driving should use only brakes then and when SOC decreases it can gradually add recuperation (like in my Leaf). Leaf is using (very weak) recuperation even at 99 % SOC.

    One Pedal Driving

OK, try to compare braking with OPD and without OPD, but in "neutral gear" at very low speeds. I doubt that MG4 will have the same deceleration. Motor and transmission friction cannot have the same deceleration as the actual brake (which should be used by OPD at very low speeds).

    One Pedal Driving

As far as I know, the OPD uses regen for braking at "higher" to moderate speeds. At very low speeds, when the braking force is not sufficient, it also uses the normal brakes (up to 100% for full stop). I suspect that it must be difficult to get the interaction between the two brakes to work...

One Pedal Driving, how to use?

At least "Viking" agrees with me (although I don't agree with everything he says there): ;) In my Leaf I can easily set the level of recuperation, including "virtual" N mode (by pressing the accelerator pedal just so that there is no recuperation and no engine power).

    MG4 Trophy fuel economy records?

Average 44 mph (71 km/h). The consumption seems OK (at least when compared to my Leaf).

One Pedal Driving, how to use?

Exactly. And that's why you have the choice to use OPD or not. By the way, you don't replace two pedals with one. The brake pedal is still used when it is really needed. I wonder if there is anyone on this forum who loves OPD and couldn't stand to buy a car without that option? The main reason...

One Pedal Driving, how to use?

Why would the electric car keep going when you let off the "gas" pedal? Just to imitate the behavior of ICE cars? In my opinion, this is nonsense. I've been using the e-pedal (OPD) exclusively on my Leaf since day one.
