    charger help - what happened?

I very nearly made this mistake, but luckily I learned in-time that typical so called 13A sockets aren't good for supplying 10A for long periods. I ended up purchasing a granny charger that offers charging rates 6, 8, 10, 13 & 16A. I bought mine from evconnectors.com I charged at 8A. I now have...

    2021 MG5 Exclusive: 4 miles per kWh - YAY!

Hardly comparable, 4.4 miles per kWh in my used MG5 SR almost entirely from our two week trip in beautiful France [Dept. Mayenne], returned a week ago and not yet reset. Cheapest charging rates between 0.33 [slow] to 0.25 Euro per kWh [rapid]. My normal driving in UK is ~4.2 kWh [roughly] or so...

    Incandescent bulbs!

What about if a car has non compliant LEDs in the external lights and the lights are the cause of the collision. There would be an investigation and Plod would discover the non-compliant LEDs. Might that in turn invalidate the MoT / roadworthiness of the car and one's insurance?

How / can you check battery SOH ?

TeslaBjorn reviewed the MG several times. In the video below he refers to using CarScanner, and I believe he uses the ODP Link LX dongle. You could contact him to make sure.

Does anyone have the indoor granny cable and use it outdoors?

I use mine outdoors, mine is IP66 rated, but I stick it under the car with a rigid cover to keep the rain off. The IP67 rating seems incongruous for dry indoor use. IP67 Protected from total dust ingress. Protected from immersion between 15 centimetres and 1 metre in depth.

How / can you check battery SOH ?

100% SOH is what the ODB dongle and CarScanner app report. I do not know how the app derives this. The car was first registered 13 Sept. 2021 (from V5c). I purposely bought a used car that had more mileage than less as it seems that EV batteries 'like' to be exercised, rather than left at high...

    Balancing charge for MG5 SR

The balance charge was a using a granny cable. An evconnectors.com Type 2 | 16A CEE Blue Mobile Charging Cable | 5 Metre, With UK 13A adaptor and 5m extension. This offers 6; 8;10;13 & 16A charge rates. Because I don't have a certified socket, (I am awaiting an Ohme wall charger) the car was...

How / can you check battery SOH ?

I I am certainly only a beginner as a new owner of a used MG5 SR (24079 miles), but I have the OBD Link LX and it seems to work fine with the Car Scanner App. This App does know about the MG5, not all do. I wouldn't go so far as to recommend these, because I simply do not have any base-line to...

    Balancing charge for MG5 SR

As a new owner of a used MG5 SR, I have you to thank for knowing how to tell I had completed the equalisation charge. I can confirm, at 'SOC:100%' it said 'Finished!' Some time later still at 'SOC:100%', it said: 'Connected, uncharged!' How very bizarre!

    Obd2 mgev5

I have an OBDLink LX Model LX101. I bought it because Bjorn Nyland (Tesla Bjorn on Youtube) uses it. I use it with the Car Scanner App. I'm definitely a beginner, but I'm learning. The only problem I have encountered so-far, is that if I leave it plugged in and lock the car, the alarm goes off...
