Good info, I'll make sure it's on Eco++ tonight and try again.
I'm usually charging after 23:00, so hopefully the heat issue is not something i should have to worry about although the Zappi is in full sunlight in the afternoon. I do have solar but normally use any excess to heat the hot tub :)
I had the car set-up to charge (Octopus and Zappi) on Saturday night and it didn't start at all. I tried again Sunday evening but after some manual messing about it would only charge at 1.5 kW.
I'll go and try Fast charging manually.
Update
The car does charge at the full 7 kW - but it took a...
I'm doing Hove to Kirkcaldy on Wednesday. I have the extended range model. Planning on a stop at Banbury Tesla chargers, then Trentham Tesla and finally Tebay. We have dogs and my bladder is no longer young, hence the 3 stops!
Not had a problem with LKA myself. Occasionally it will twitch the steering wheel and/or beep at me but nothing to warrant me switching it off. That's a mixture of country/town/motorway driving. If you're not using your indicator at the correct time then you may get a reminder!
I just prefer having the more powerful charger with a tethered cable and the Zappi allows me to optionally charge via the solar I have (that is if I ever see the sun again!)
Why not use Octopus Intelligent Go? You don't have to worry about the car not being recognised by Octopus if you install a recognised charger.
I have the MG4 Extended range with the Zappi charger and it works good for me. Just plug the car in and that's it - it charges to my set voltage (80%)...
Octopus may charge outside the quoted times if there is excess electricity available on the grid? Similar to the surge proving you get on the fast chargers.
As long as the percentage is correct at my destination time, I don't worry about exactly how it happens
I've just had my right rear warning go off. Definitely down to the ambient temperatures I'm sure. Interestingly my tyres were all just over 30 psi, got it that way from the garage a couple of months ago and confess that I never checked myself. All at 36 psi now. Hopefully my miles per kWh might...
I have a Zappi and MG4 Extended Range. I usually just plug in and use the MG app to do a scheduled charge between 00:30 and 04:30. Never had a problem with it stopping, charges to 80/90/100 if I increase the limit in the MG app. I've never used the Zappi app for this
I'm with Octopus, brand new meter (gas and electric) and in home display and it doesn't cope with the cheap charging rate over night - i usually wake up to the home display saying £14 or more!
I did e-mail Octopus - who confirmed that the display will show the wrong amount but it should be...
"Now suppose I left the Xpower "running" while I was unpacking all the luggage and in the house momentarily... would someone be able to nip in quickly and drive off ?"
Not unless you left the keys in the car. It's easy to test - leave the keys in the house and go back and try to move the car!
Never find it a problem, i usually indicate if even if i dont see another car or reason to indicate so i dont get "nudged" often and the nudge is NOT the car wrenching the wheel from my grasp.
