11kW Charge Hub only 3kW output

My granny charger from a 10A socket pulls only 7A (1600 watts) maximum. I don't mind that because I get a full 63km charge overnight, at a low charge rate, which lowers the chance of a battery meltdown. It's a HS PHEV by the way.

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

Hard to know, but something flattened my battery and I truly think my battery is ok, after all it's a deep cycle battery. The problem is not resolved and it will happen again, hence I'm carrying a portable jump starter that I already owned. Next time I won't go to the battery in the back of the...

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

Yeah, I reckon owning an EV (or any modern vehicle), is like owning an iPhone 20 years ago. Nothing worked properly without jailbreaking. Rapid use of very modern technology can bring you a very glitchy vehicle. I just hope there isn't a fatal flaw.

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

Oddly enough, after a jump start the battery seems to be holding a charge and the problem has gone away. It's like something was left on to cause the battery to go flat. It seems to me in a modern EV car it's impossible to leave something on, it's all taken care of for you. I'm beginning to...

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

I got a beep at about 2am in the morning. I got up and took a short drive. That got me to the morning. I now carry a 12V LiFePo4 jump start pack, till I resolve this battery issue.

If you can get into ready mode, why wait? Just drive. The battery is charging. The real problem is getting to ready mode.

Once the battery gets below a threshold absolutely nothing happens, you could sit there all day.

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

I have a 12v charger at home, I'll be there tomorrow after a 144km run. I just hope I don't have to call MG assist to get going in 8 hours time. It seems there is a threshold voltage below which the system will not "boot". Once it boots I think the Traction battery charges the 12V battery.

    Unfortunately you are right.

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

I think you may well be right. I've been reading a tad, and it seems like people are having difficulty sourcing or even knowing what battery to use.

I also note, that the warning toots that warned of a low 12V battery continued until there was insufficient voltage to make the horn work. A self fulfilling prophecy. I think the software engineers could do with a little schooling.

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

I do a 144km drive at least once a week, maybe twice. Rest are < 60km. The battery would be 2yrs old, I suspecting it's faltering, probably a monitoring system draining it 24/7. I also gather that when charging the 380V 16ah battery the 12V battery doesn't get a charge. Go figure.

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

No more than 2 hours, it was actually on a 240V 10A wall socket being charged.

12V battery low warning light HS PHEV

Today my PHEV started tooting the horn but at a very sickly volume. Nothing at all worked. It kept intermittently tooting at a more and more feeble effort. I climbed into back and manually (with a screw driver) opened the hatch, measured my battery voltage at about 7 volts. Called MG assist, a...
