The charger won't start until I press the start charge button on the screen in the car. This only seems to apply when DC charging. Always auto starts on type 2 AC charging.
I recently had to get my Nissan EV repaired on an insurance claim. It took 4 panel shops before I found one who would quote the repair. In the end the insuer wrote it off as uneconomical to repair. I'm now doing the repair myself for about $AUD5K the shops are often terrified of EVs IMO and some...
In short, I think the summary is if you try to run the fridge around the clock from the onboard 12V battery you will be sad. The fridge requires way more energy than can be delivered by the 12V battery and you cannot rely on the dc-dc converter in the vehicle to charge the 12V from the traction...
Haven't seen that happen on my MG4. My biggest concern with Jolt chargers in Adelaide is how fiddly it is getting the charging started on the MG. Start charge on Jolt, plug in, race back into the car and repeatedly tap start and cross fingers.
I've done LED conversion of the interior lights and added a magnetic interior light to the cargo cover. Also installed rubber floor mats throughout to protect the crappy carpet.
That's odd..mine has been working okay in Adelaide.
I'm going to a different dealership. Never going back to the one who sold me the car once they've installed my towbar kit.
I've got the car booked into a dealership next week. Oddly they want to charge me for adjustments to the headlights. Will be an interesting debate when the time comes...
Ok so some further testing with the scroll wheel reveals that it only adjusts the height of the low beam lights. The high beam lights are fixed and in my case too high. Definitely a visit to the dealership coming up.
Thanks guys. In my case the roller wheel seems to make little if any difference. Might take it to a dealer and see if I can convince them to look at it.
Here's a different question. Is it just me or is the MG4's headlight high beam focussed too high? I've only used high beam a few times but it seems in my case to be focused too far above the road. I kind of get a gap between the cover of the low and high beam.
Hi Terry. If the MG is like most EV's unplugging the ECU won't change anything. Typically a crash will blow a safety fuse within the battery. In a lot of cars it's known as a pyro fuse. There will likely be a number of flags In various ECU's set to prevent power up. Unfortunately there probably...
Thanks guys. I've accessed the hidden menu identified elsewhere in the forum's and have screenshots of all the versions now. I expect that when I get the R11 update there will be a whole bunch of others. Will report back.
I don't know much about the 12V charging in my essence yet. Only had it for a month. My Nissan Leaf only charges the 12V when the car is on or when plugged in and charging. I guess the only way to know is to put a logger on the 12V battery and see what the voltage does.
Hi fellow Aussie MG4 owners. My vehicle was delivered with software version R04. What versions are others on? Does anyone know what the latest version available in Australia is? I'm finding lots of bugs in R04.
My new 30L 12V fridge consumed an average of 250Wh over a 4 day test run. This works out at around 20Ah at 12V. I doubt the 12V battery in the MG4 is much more than 20Ah capacity and not deep cycle. Consequently your battery will run flat within a day unless the car charges it from the traction...
