    EV adoption ramping up.

I think it's up to the dealer whether they fit them or not. I just assumed (wrongly) all dealers would have been doing it by the end of 2020 as there are supposed advantages. Since ULEZ zones are typically controlled by plate recognition I suspect the advantages are pretty much nil unless you...

    EV adoption ramping up.

Although we see quite a few BEV's out driving, looking at those parked on driveways it's a different picture around here. I only saw 3 with green stripes out of about 100 when walking home yesterday. I'm hoping this is just a 'demographic' thing, as when I looked closer about 50% were older...

MG i SMART app remote control instruction failed please try again later

Yup, the SNAKP23E32 made it significantly better for me too. It still often fails as I go into the app sometimes with an error message sometimes not. So far if I then try the status page, it has always worked. Even having left the car and app untouched for 4 days on one occasion, it has still...

    SOS system not working

On the Trophy I believe it can be set in car. For us you need to use the app: Bottom right circular icon for settings. Top left headphone icon. Select country if no number present. Mine was blank, but setting it didn't fix the problem. See the job sheet and message here for what did fix it...

MG i SMART app remote control instruction failed please try again later

Since some firmware updates a few weeks back to fix the eCall fault, it looks like the iSmart behaviour has changed. It appears to fail more often just after having driven it, but unlike before it has mostly recovered on its own within in a day. I could be being fooled by random chance, but...

V2L discharge specs, 60Hz output on Australian MG MG4 EV

A few further comments about my measurements. I'm not an electronic engineer so don't know if any are relevant to the odd waveforms: The scope is quite old and was fairly cheap at the time of purchase. I believe it uses ccd's to capture the signals and has an 8 bit A/D for readout. It was on...

V2L discharge specs, 60Hz output on Australian MG MG4 EV

Just for reference, using a £15 V2L adaptor plug I get: Resistor 1.989K from volt meter, 2K on resistor. Voltage 215.7 from meter. RMS Voltage 290 from a scope. Peak to peak. Frequency 50.5 Hz from scope. I took an image of the waveform but was too sunny and I couldn't shade it very well. From...

    Dealer refuses to help

My reply was to @Billymanta who has a Trophy LR. Any vibration problem he has will not be the same as the problems discussed here on the Xpower forum, and with any luck if his car is new, may dissappear in time on their own accord like mine did.

    Dealer refuses to help

I had a moderate vibration on collection. Happy to say that it faded to nothing over the course of 500 miles and luckily before the check booked with the garage. From what others have said I now assume it was due to flat spots having sat in the dock's carpark for 6 months before delivery.

    Jump Start

It's worth learning how to operate the emergency boot release for this situation. At least 3 of the cars I've had have had a way of exiting the boot from inside, but don't know if it is a requirement on all vehicles. Look up emergency tailgate opening in the manual. You will need either the key...

Tesla Opening Up Supercharger Network - A BAD Idea

I think if all the chargers were in line with the parking bays as shown by @Rolfe rather than at 90 degrees, it would help a lot as the car can then be reversed back further between the chargers. ETA: Ignore this. I just saw a post by @Rolfe in another thread which said the same thing. 🫤

    Seat covers

Also in the 'reverse camera se le' thread, @DevonMG4 posted 3 videos. One of them dealt with routing a cable under the back seat which gives some good information on removal.

Can the MG4 eSim be unlocked?

I agree. It seems to do it more now the ecall problem has been fixed, but also now sometimes starts working again after a few hours without intervention. 🙂 The 48 hour thing might be happening as well as some other cause. I'll try and monitor.

    The Tesla full self-driving thread

And to drag it back on topic, if that was the safety bar Elon was trying to reach, we'd all be getting an extra half hours sleep on the way to work by now. 🤣

    The Tesla full self-driving thread

It may be later than you'd imagined - around the late 30's in the London suburbs. I suspect one or two forum members were alive by then. It was around the time they introduced driving tests, stopped putting the pedals in random orders and had 30 times the number of road deaths per car as now.

On my dad's milk round as a lad, while he took the milk to the doorstop the horse would move on to the next one on its own. And nobody complained about emissions either - a penny a bucket he got for those. 😄

Don't worry, I'm sure Ali express will be selling after market kits as soon as it becomes mainstream. 😱

At what SOC is one pedal driving available?

The actual driving bit of it seems almost perfect to me, as with most of the MG4. They only really need to fix the bad translation and explain the factors that affect the surprisingly large variation in SOC as to when it becomes available (Battery type, module version numbers, temperature, what...

    One Pedal Driving

The message you get doesn't make much sense, and should instead tell you the battery charge level is too high to allow OPD. However it is behaving sensibly when at or near 100% because there is no where for the generated electrical energy to go to at a sufficiently high rate (up to 25% power...

MG4 Android auto not responding or hearing my voice

I'm pretty sure mine did the same for a short while. As is often the case, you stumble around changing settings etc and something makes it work, but you never find which bit actually made the difference (or maybe I've simply forgotten). 🤷‍♂️ I would check the privacy settings on the car first...
