    Good news here, Our firmware has been updated and now we can charge up using Tesla chargers. Strange procedure you plug in, turn car on go to app then click start charge. Not so simple… But we can charge. They didn’t update the software MCU 83.3.4.8 MPU 1300R12

    It’s a worry… Car is only 3 weeks old, it was as if it de-synched and the immobiliser kicked in. We used the spare key to unlock the car and now the broken one works fine. The issue for us was that the special place to put the key was not working. If it does it again but we are 100miles away...

    I wrote an email to MG customer services asking about this problem, why they don’t do over the air updates and why for some reason some dealerships do not know it is a problem, or a fixable one at that. Additionally Tesla chargers are being installed at a pace, and other brands are relabelling...

    MG5 Doesn't recognise that the key is present and won't start.

    Did Anyone get the emergency key placement area to work? Ours did not. I ended walking home and getting the spare. I removed the rubber, placed button side up, nothing.

    Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

    Couple of initial problems with the Octopus Intelligent Go and Zappy installation. But now works amazingly. Problem 1 - After Zappy install our car swallowed up all of our home battery. Fix - We moved the sensor clamp for the inverter so it read the demand of the house rather than the Zappy...

    It's a shame we couldn't just update the software/firmware ourselves.... or perhaps an update is released over the air.

    Agree with Beth, had same problem it was the cable. A genuine or certified cable should work.
