I blame Government policy which prevented insurers hiking up premiums to loyal (lazy) customers who just renewed with their current insurer regardless of increased cost.
The insurers still need their outrageous profits so we all now suffer.
Lots of useful advice already but I would also suggest when charging any 12v battery in situ it is a good idea to connect the negative lead from the charger to part of the car’s bodywork (a bolt head etc) rather than the actual negative battery terminal.
I have no connection to this company, nor have I used the product but it may be worth a try.
If you were unable to apply it yourself I am sure you could find a local independent garage or tradesman who could apply the product for you.
Hope this helps. Iain...
Just to report that my MG ZS was in to Frasers of Falkirk for its second service last month. During the service a knock from the steering was identified. New part ordered and fitted today 21/11/2022. Knowing that other forum members have had issues with steering problems, delays to obtaining and...
Well done and very useful comparison.
Just seems a pity, when you have gone to the trouble of posting useful information someone responds with;- but…………..
I haven’t tried it myself but WD 40 seems to clean many different surfaces and is reasonably cheap and readily available. Not sure if the chrome on this video is real or plastic but might be worth a go.
I wish to thank all those who have shared their EV experiences with me. Offering useful tips and advice.
Sadly I will be posting no more as I do not think the current trend of posts is what I want to see on this forum.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I do not see this forum is where...

Seriously it depends on whether you want to go ahead with the deal or not.
Contact the dealer to clarify your position.
The way the market is at the moment the dealer should not have a problem selling the...
£6 a month sounds very reasonable as I was £91 for first service.
I would check how long the plan would cover at this price.
You do not want one covering first year and then subsequent years having large increases.
Seems a lot of effort for no gain. Or am I missing something?
Perhaps if you could remove all badges to keep people guessing which car it is but the MG logo is a bit of a giveaway.
Maybe it’s weight saving to squeeze another electron out of the battery.
Should add about a metre to the range!
Everyone to their own and I would never think of advising anyone as to how they drive their car. I was merely offering advice to someone contemplating a longer journey.
Personally I would rather drive at a more moderate speed, with less range anxiety and fewer charging stops.
Lots of comments about avoiding motorways to increase range.
Surely it is not compulsory to drive at 70mph (plus) on motorways and by keeping a reasonable rate of progress a good range should be achievable.
After all you are avoiding the slowing/acceleration due to junctions, roundabouts etc...
