    MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

SR and LR Trophy models are almost the same weight (only 10kg more for LR) - I'm suspecting there is some software locked battery capacity in there in the SR which potentially can be enabled at the later date..........if true this might be working well for MG to manage the recent withdrawal of...

    Local perks for EV owners

Saw yesterday works under way in Chelmsford - Tesco Springfield road car park. Fairly certain it's for the charging points as could see them dug up channels and square concrete pads on number of parking spots with cable trunking out of them.

Does anyone have ZS EV Black Edition?

Red does look good. But it's almost 8k more than the standard 'Exclusive' RED you could get, not sure if it's worth that much extra. You might be able to get the entire car wrapped in any color you like for about 3k.

Does anyone have ZS EV Black Edition?

Assuming you are thinking of wrapping your ZS in Black - given the price of the car it probably is not a wise choice unless you are going to do the wrap-job yourself. AFAIK a prof. full wrap will cost upwards of £2000 - that's approx. 10% of the price of the car !

    Isnt it nice

I don't seem to have any problems with my Auto-hold, it is working fine and just in the same way Auto-Hold works in Outlander PHEV (just saying it as a comparison that MG Auto-Hold does not seem to be in any way unique/weird) What issue do you guys face with Auto-Hold ?

How much does it actually cost to charge from flat to full?

Thanks guys, I have verified that the solar installation is 100% owned by us and there are no tie-in's with any other entities. I'm currently receiving the quarterly payments - adds up to roughly 600£ a year. It's only a small installation with 4x panels that came with the house when we bought...

How much does it actually cost to charge from flat to full?

Talking about FIT payments - if I move my panels and associated electrics from one property to another - will I still be eligible for the FIT payments ? (or) is the contract only valid at the original address where it was initially installed ? (my FIT eligible installation is in our rental...

GOM - Accuracy at last 20%

Just confirmed today one of the things @Mike said above : "The GoM turns to --- at 10 miles" After the "---" displays, then it is able to drive at least another 4.6 miles (in ECO mode-Regen Level=3 @ avg. speed of 45miles/perH with Heat=1bar in RED and Fan Speed=Max - 1 bar) It probably would...

    My Month with a EV

No, I got mine from MG Wakefield. Really wanted to get it from MG Chelmsford having done test drive and all with them but there was a £1500 price difference so went with Wakefield. Both MG Chelmsford and MG Wakefield were pretty good from my experience. I believe MG Chelmsford have been open...

    My Month with a EV

Nice write up Dean, impressed with all the mods you have done already to the car in the short time you have had it. Sounds like you are Chelmsford based, I'm too and with a Black MG ZS EV - hopefully will bump into you at some point. Quick Tip on Charging during Long Trips: I used Google Maps...

    Local perks for EV owners

Thanks for the tip, did not know about pod-point app. Checked that now and there is no charging points anywhere in Chelmsford in pod-point app.

Could you share the link to the auto dimming mirror please, I'm on the look out for one. Thanks.

    Local perks for EV owners

There is a town center Tesco(Springfield Rd) and I haven't seen any there. There is another larger Tesco(Princes Rd) but not sure if they have any. No mention of charging stations for both of these in Tesco's website, will do a drive around when I go there next to see if any tucked away at the...

Cold weather range test completed today...on my driving it’s really very good.

There is a screen in the center display that shows the AMPS in -ve which gives you a good indicator how much charge the KERS is recovering and putting back into the battery pack.

    Local perks for EV owners

Yeah, it's pretty cool there but not free (Rapid). I think their 22kW chargers are free to use, I haven't tried it yet but there were no screens or payment card readers on them, so assuming it's free - will be checking that out over the weekend and will report back.

Buying a cable for public charging

I got a single phase cable but wondering if I have made a mistake here and instead I should have gotten a 3-phase cable ! Say if I want to use the 22kW public charger (like the ones at Gridserve - see image below) with my own cable - do I need a single-phase (or) 3-phase 32 Amp Type 2 cable.

    Full charge range

I'm in a similar place with mine, car has done only about 400 miles so far. I've charged it once at home on Granny charge cable (3kw I guess..) and it went up from 44 miles to 114 miles and just stayed there - I was plugged in for nearly 13 hrs. Has anyone had success in getting the car to...

GOM - Accuracy at last 20%

LOL What the EV world really need is a Power-Siphon cable that helps transfer charge from Car-2-Car. I guess it will be DC to DC and so the power transfer will be really fast.

    Very efficient car

Ah...that is a good point @shikoku14 I had seen Bjorn Nyland's video where he complained about ACC using brakes instead of Regen but had not made that jump to set KERS to 1 when I was on highway - lesson learned, will remember it for next time. Thanks.
