    MG5 Compatible Roof Bars

Odd. I too have bought Yakima bars and they fit fine. Have you read the manual to see how to adjust the width?

    MG5 Roof rails decorative only

I have no idea what they are going to do - I had to leave my car in for repair to the AirCon Compressor....

    MG5 Roof rails decorative only

Indeed I can confirm that there is a recall being issued.... I only found out when dropping my car in on Friday for an AirCon issue... where whilst going through the paper work the agent said 'oh and it's in for a recall too'.... to which I responded in surprise and asked 'a recall for...

    MG5 Parts Availability

Nope. Was offered (and accepted as there was little time to negotiate) an MG3 petrol.... will be contacting the dealer next week to see if there is any chance of getting something of a similar size to the 5 as I can't fit my normal EDC tools in the 3!

    MG5 Parts Availability

    Fingers firmly crossed.

    MG5 Parts Availability

In total how long did it take for MG to source the replacement parts for the Aircon replacement? Mines just gone in to the dealer with an Aircon compressor problem, and have been told that the car cannot be driven until the unit is replaced.... now braving myself for a long wait without my 5....

    Regeneration brake light

I'm guessing that you are doing the test in a fairly built up area, and so not actually travelling that fast when taking your foot off for KERS3 to start SLOWING the car? If so, because of the slower initial speed the ability to regenerate is reduced (less kinetic energy in the system) and so it...

    MG5 Roof rails decorative only

Really depends on your definition of 'legal'. In the eyes of the law anything being carried or transported must be done in a safe and secure manner without hazard or danger to yourself or those around you... you could just lash something directly to your roof and so long as you can prove that...

    MG5 Roof rails decorative only

Since the bars are still not officially rated... but in my (humble) opinion mounting the bike rack as close to the side rails as possible would be the best option as it will give a more direct line of force down though its' base and in to the rail/foot of the roof rails.... happens to make the...

    MG5 Roof rails decorative only

When you do go to fit 'for use, slide the front bar as far forward, and the rear as far back along the rails as you can... should then give the recommended separation for your bike rack :). Will also position the clamp across the section where the foot and main bar on - so giving more 'meat' for...

    Rear boot bike rack?

MTB? The ones on my 29" Spectral are short enough not to interfere with the Yakima system. Really just depends on how far over the top/ round the back of the wheel that your mudguards extend.

    Rear boot bike rack?

No, the ProRide.... and yes, that requires a bit more bike supporting/man handling whilst putting a bike in to it.

    Rear boot bike rack?

I can only talk about my experience with the Yakima (never tried the Thule Upride): Step 1: Flop the front holder up and forward Step 2: Lift bike up on to rack and roll forward in to the front holder (very similar to the INNO), this holds the bike up pretty well as the bike tries to roll...

    What jack should I buy?

Bolts need to have the correct angle on the base/collar to suit the wheel. I don't know what the specs are for the MG 5 bolts or the Mk Golf wheel, just that if you get the wrong contact angles things can go horribly wrong....

    Rear boot bike rack?

Yes, that, the Yakima HighRoad (which I have and can highly recommend) and the Thule Upride are all good racks that hold on to the wheels rather than the frame - and so much more secure and less likely to fall out of. The only drawback to the INNO is that you have to set the front/rear holders...

    Rear boot bike rack?

Though not of much help since you would prefer not to lift the bike up on to the roof, however the Yakima Highroad roof rack system is rated to bikes up to 20Kg... so that and some light Aluminium roof bars could/should keep you under the 35Kg rating currently suggested for the MG 5 roof...

    Rear boot bike rack?

No problem, and sorry if I sounded condescending. I know too well the problems of transporting e-Bikes, all my friends with them have just bought vans because of the weight issue. And again, having worked in a body-shop where damage caused by poorly fitted racks and the customers saying 'but...

    Rear boot bike rack?

Sorry you feel that way. Only highlighted the text from the SARIS manual to show that even they don't currently rate their racks for individual bikes exceeding 35lbs. Capitalisation in earlier message was again to highlight the key points that many people overlook in their hope to find a simple...

    Rear boot bike rack?

....also from install manual: Do not exceed maximum load capacity of carrier (105 lbs max or 35 lbs max per bike!) Secure properly and adjust for even load distribution, loading the heaviest/biggest bike first and closest to the vehicle. which makes your E-bike too heavy.
