Cleaning the MG ZS "engine bay"

Literally just cleaned this morning before I read this thread. Car is 22 months from new and was a wee bit dusty and dirty under the bonnet. A damp sponge with some silicone cleaner and a cloth in the bay , just some car wash to clean the grille top and inner wings that had got dirty. Also...

Do you ‘coast’ in your EV? Is it just a complete waste of time and energy or a useful option?

I think the title is misleading I do not advocate driving in neutral, it is a dangerous risk But you don't have to in order to remove regen due to a 'failing ' with the current ZS ACC In the ZSEV you can drive in 'D' and mimic zero KERS and still have full control of the vehicle. all the...

MG EVs Podcast Monday 12 July 2021 @ 7:30pm BST

Cheers , I always like to know what I'm 'sitting on' CATL SAIC were developing high nickel/low cobalt NMC811 cells , but after all the fun and games BMW FORD GM, and especially Hyundai have had with these I think they are sticking with the tried and trusted. The newRoewe ER 6 installed NMC523...

MG EVs Podcast Monday 12 July 2021 @ 7:30pm BST

Having watched the podcast now I have two questions . The incoming stock has the 61.1kWh battery + the pilot suite hardware but it is only increased the kerb weight by 15kg . Now my ZSEV has NMC 523 (141wh/kg) The Chinese MG5 (Ei5 ) now uses LiFePO4 'LFP' ( like the Chinese made model 3 )...

Do you ‘coast’ in your EV? Is it just a complete waste of time and energy or a useful option?

You don't need to knock it into neutral in order to mimic '0' regen or coast mode . ZSEV I use it frequently when in ACC as it can't engage kers . You simply set the ACC to say 45 and drive at 60-65 . It will effectively coast but you are still in full control in drive & the camera / radar...

Will the MG Marvel R come to the UK?

As I said earlier it's simply MG Motors UK had an 'earlier' different plan. Although I'm slightly envious of the 'R' . The UK side is just proceeding with its own plan which will I sure show itself on the next weeks months

    Sorry BMS again!

I think the 'Latest BMS' update settles at 449V and lowered the individual cell voltages / upper limit buffer . I think we are up to SA020 as far as updates go for the ZSEV , it would be a nice 'pinned' topic if somebody could list the relevant patches & updates ?

MG EVs Podcast Monday 12 July 2021 @ 7:30pm BST

I distinctly recall talk of a refresh when the MG5 was first premiered, in 2020 objectively to fix the MG pilot safety suite to enable the car to acheive a useful Ncap rating, this was way before any sign the EU MG were planning to do their own LHD version . as for depreciation , compared to...

Meet other MG EV owners at the EVs in the Park event in Coventry this Saturday 17th July

If I recall from my previous visits it's the health and safety rule the RZOC have to abide by for the event to take place in the busy public park ; no combustion engine vehicles , participants to be escorted at walking pace to the event location gates shut at 11:00 am as by then visitors...

Will the MG Marvel R come to the UK?

MG Europe and MG Motors UK are two separate companies, with two different strategies, personally I like how the nrw EU arm has marketed the brand so far, and it seems to be working for them . The UK arm seems to be holding back ATM. But presume the MG3 EV supermini and the MG EV Coupe are...
