Please note though...you can only get into the car with this blade, it is somewhere to wait whist the rescue service turns up to put a new battery into your proper key fob, so you can hopefully use the car to move about rather than just a waiting room.

Hi, No it is a Rolec smart charger, but I can't use it as a smart charger because our phone signal only just makes it a 3g signal even with a signal amplifier.

Not always, I suppose that is possibly the issue, a bit sticky I guess, or a weak solenoid. It is in for it's first service in December. Thanks for the idea.

Hi, yes it is a 2020. I have just turned it on again after 2 hours, the display showed the MG badge then the usual display returned and the temperature is now reading 23c and the clock is back. Very odd but working again. Thanks

The car is a December 2010 with updated software in Feb 2021. in now has 2600 miles and the battery is balanced. Today, on the hottest day of the year, the info system is displaying -40C and the clock is --/--. Any ideas how to get the correct temperature and the clock back?

No it wasn't any different to the replacement, except that the replacement worked. The dealer did put my faulty one into the boot/ trunk of the ZS demonstration vehicle. I did insist that the replacement one worked before I left the dealership.
