BMW drivers vs MG4 xpower - no contest so why bother

Last few times I've been on a longer journey it's been MG4's (not the xpowers) zipping past on the right hand side at the lights. I've quite enjoyed it because you always get someone who doesn't like being overtaken by an MG try to get past them at the next set of the lights... and fails.

    MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Vanorama didn't have any change to give me about my estimated early April estimate, which has been stable for a couple of months now.

    Recommendation to charge to 80%

It's a different battery chemistry in the new long range so i think that's why. I think it's more easily damaged by being repeatedly charged to 100%. edit: damaged is a bit glass half empty, prevents capacity loss by being limited to 80% would be a more positive way of looking at it.

MG ZS EV Long Range - Rapid Charging Test - 76kW Peak?

I was working it out in those terms as well. In 30 minutes from 20% to 70% you can get close to a Leaf 40's 100% charge (34kw).

MG ZS EV Long Range - Rapid Charging Test - 76kW Peak?

So do you think there is a chance that a higher rate charger, IE more than 200 amps, might get slightly more? Not suggesting you should do it ;) , almost running out of charge in Barnsley isn't how anyone should have to spend their evening!!

MG ZS EV refreshed version reviews

How does the climate control work on the new ZS, I watched Luscombe's video above but am still a bit vague on how it works. I could see the auto bit around where it blows the air, but don't know if that also controls the fan speed or if there are other bits that control that / set it to auto...

Facelift ZS EV LR battery type.

Li-ion NMC is "normal". You have to slightly look after the batteries ideally by not leaving at 100% charge for too long etc. They in degrade in capacity at maybe 7% a year for the first few years in particular. LFP batteries are more robust, and will degrade very slowly, and can be charged to...

MG ZS EV Facelift - Press Launch 11/11/21

Looking at the manual the torque figures are the same. I'm no expert but presumably the maximum torque is limited by current draw and motor design which are the same on both models? Torque is acceleration. Maximum power would limit the top speed. In a single geared ev at least.

MG ZS EV Facelift - Have you ordered?

I've haven't because i don't trust MG not to supply a bodged product. The first gen ZS has been quirky, dodgy BMS, no climate, fussy about slow (powerline, scheduling) and faster chargers (genie point, slow when cold). The HS PHEV has the gear change gap issue. The original MG5 had the roof...

    Cazoo

Interesting, i'd seem the "add other bank options" in my banking app but had igored it. It doesn't look like you would need passwords etc. I've just looked on my Natwest online banking app and you can add accounts from other banks (which is using the same technology). You choose the bank...

Can't order the Exclusive but Facelift incoming

I'm hoping the facelift will have full climate control, that was the reason i didn't end up getting the current zs when they first came out. Since the MG5 LR has it can't see why the new ZS shouldn't.

    2000 mile road trip

Wow impressive trip. Good to hear about people doing this kind of things as well, especially to more remote destinations. I was wondering, if you put the same route back into ABRP with the adjusted an ~4kw/mile that you found to be a good motorway estimate does it produce suggestions closer to...

    Best Trip to date...

They're running off the 12 volt power system. The 12 volt power will come from the HV battery via a dc-dc converter i'd have thought when the car is "on".
