Long Range Used Price in few years estimates

Sorry gents. It's an old joke which I shouldn't really have used in these days of political correctness. It's hardly racist in my opinion but I apologize to any members I might have upset by airing it.😳

Long Range Used Price in few years estimates

I thought How Long was a Chinaman (but what do I know?) :)

    Russian Roulette

Respect!! Got to be a silver medal if not a gold. 1 for attempting an 1800 mile round trip 2 for letting the battery drop to 4 I would have to take seat covers to even consider a trip like that :)

That test appears to result in it being it more or less amphibious :D

Loss of battery power while laid up

There are usually some systems that run even when the car is not working, particularly immobiliser and alarms (maybe other things with electric cars). So I suppose the main battery tops up the 12V battery. But I have to admit that is one hell of a lot of power to have drained - roughly...

    First Drive

I wanted a test drive before I bought mine (obviously). I was out in the car for less than a mile before I arrived back at the garage, handed back the keys and told the sales guy I wanted one!

    Missing stuff

Well I suppose you Exclusive drivers can put 75Kg of batteries on the roof now (or whatever the max load currently stands at) :)

    Miles/kWh

That's a good result, Les. As you point out, the slower your average speed the better the result (although there are obviously other factors as well). Also, as you point out, achieving over 5m/kWhr is possible under certain circumstances and over shorter distances. But nobody to my knowledge has...

Yep, until you get back into a manual ICE car, then you have to slap it around a bit to wake it up again :ROFLMAO:

    Missing stuff

Haha. You'd need a 32tonner to carry that! I was thinking more in terms of a small petrol genny for use in emergencies to get you out of trouble.

    Missing stuff

Not a bad idea. But on a more realistic note, I wonder if entrepreneurs might start to produce retrofit range extender options for electric cars to help alleviate range anxiety? It's always nice to know you have a few kW on tap:-)

    Headlights

Try shining a decent torch into the dome-shaped sensor on the dashboard and see if the lights go off. It may provide a clue if they extinguish - like the threshold is incorrect? It sounds like a faulty sensor to me.

    Motor Fault - consult handbook

If you think how much electronic stuff is in cars these days I would not be optimistic about getting to the root of the problem by a swap and test approach. As you can't be living with a car that has an intermittent problem and they are unable to solve it I think you may have to go down the...
