    Which wall charger?

I manage to mix and match. I sometimes have "a breaker go in the fusebox", but then I twitch inwardly when people confuse "less" and "fewer". I help to keep this mental gymnastics in control by mixing my measurements (mainly to confuse my kids). There's something pleasing about referring to...

    Which wall charger?

To be fair, most people don't know or care about the difference. It's still a thing to plug your car in to charge it up. It's probably the right phrase for their target audience so it's a balancing act between sounding too techy and trying to appeal to a general audience.

    Missing stuff

A small genny would struggle to give you 5Kw, so only really useful if a 3 pin plug isn't available. And don't forget to keep your fuel with you, and replaced as it does go off, and service the gen. And don't forget the space that'll take up too. As you can imagine, I'm not feeling much love for...

    First Drive

Welcome to the mad house. If you've got off street parking available, with a home charger a 42 mile each way usage will be fine with the MG5. You'll be using less than 50% of your range each day, so no range anxiety summer or winter. The aim is to charge at home as often as possible - if you...

    Missing stuff

I've had a couple of issues: First was leaving a car park, someone was stood with their back to me. Beeping the horn felt to aggressive, and I couldn't give the engine a little blip that I would have done previously. She did jump a bit when she realised a car had crept up on her. All very good...

BS Guy Martin on Ch 4

Just watched it all - I usually like Guy and for most of this it was his normal stuff. The range test and 50 mile from home parts almost felt like it was tagged on for a purpose. As for the 50 miles - he should probably have concluded "Yes, if you can buy one with enough range to easily cover...

    Missing stuff

I appreciate the sentiment, but I've always wondered how visually impaired people deal with bicycles or joggers. Fully Charged did a video about this years ago when a blind man was interviewed over it and he was impressed by how quiet the car was but thought the worry over it was way over hyped.

    A missing mile.

True, without knowing what parameters the GOM is using it really is a black box. It could be anything from battery SOH, temperature, time-of-day, tyre pressure, previous usage just to think of a few. I think It's fair to say its precision is greater than it's accuracy. It's effectively saying...

    Wade depth

Neither would I, but at least I'd know the underside was clean afterwards.

    A missing mile.

A couple of things spring to mind. 1. The SOH reported is for the useable space. Initial degradation will be taken up in the buffer zone so range won't be affected. 2. For something lovingly referred to as a Guess-O-Meter, you seem to be expecting an accuracy that it probably doesn't warrant...

MG5 - No airbag deactivation switch

I can even open it up via the app. ;)

    2000 mile road trip

Don't forget to factor in the availability of charging at your destination. My MG5 was stacked with everything including the kitchen sink, and filling a roof box (no idea of weight but I'm willing to bet it was well over 35Kg all up - no issues to report). At 65 on the motorway still was getting...

MG5 - No airbag deactivation switch

Mine has one - it's just inside the glasses holder. o_O

    2000 mile road trip

That puts my recent 550 mile round trip to the Norfolk Broads in it's place. I found planning on zap-map for a stop around the 100 mile mark worked out well as a balance between the placement of Instavolt chargers and the range of the dog's bladder.

    Charging Routine

Not quite. The granny charger is using the onboard 7kW charger, and so will provide a balance charge. You're right about rapid though, that wont. We might have a new sport here - "Balance on your granny".

Bigger wheels, wider tyres, boy racer 4 life 😂

I don't think so. I believe the ZT has a PCD of 5x100 and the MG5 needs 5x112. Could be wrong though. Most website list the MG5 as 5x100 and we know it's not.

    MGEV community Secret Handshake?

I think the EV's don't have front fog lights.

    Forgot to close roof .oops

Given the rain storms lately, you're more likely to drown in there with a sunroof open than suffocate. At least in the MG5 it's a problem I don't have to worry about.

Cleaning the MG ZS "engine bay"

A man after my own heart, The inside of doors jams, tailgate, bottom of sills, under/around bonnet edges are a regular on my cleaning list. A quick go over with the vacuum, and a clean of the glass and you feel like it's a new car. A clean car is easier to work on and a dirty car is a rusty car.
