4 new 50kw Rapid chargers on Chargeplace Scotland in the Rose St car park (beside the Tesla chargers)
And another 50kw rapid at the Cathederal, I think it's been working for a while though.
Read yesterday that within the next "year" all chargers in the UK over 8kwh must have contactless payment options.
There must be thousands of chargers across the Uk that are old and never came with contactless. These will have to be converted unless they are too old and can't be. This in turn...
Two locations in the village, a huge charger at the BP station (Pulse obviously) that looks to be in service and 2 Rapid chargers in the Premiere Inn car park that are probably 50kw, not in service yet. They are branded ABB but no idea what network they will be on.
That makes six rapid chargers...
Heard today that Highland council's new charge rate will be.....75p per kwh
/edit/ not set in stone, this is the BBC doing what they do, posting clickbait.
I've been seeing slower charging on Rapid chargers this last few weeks. I put it down to the freezing weather (and it possibly is partly) but today I had a rapid charger error out on me, one that normally works fine. I put it down to a fault on the charger and went on my way, I was localish and...
Normally at this time of year my car is 99% by the time I get to the end of my street but today it would not drop. Stuck on 100% with no kers working was becoming a worry. I stopped and shut off for a couple of minutes and thankfully it started to drop after that but it put my range estimates...
Anyone had reason to try this and or know how it's done?
Had new tyres fitted today (mobile guy, long gone) but one of the monitors insists it's flat and I can't get it checked till late next week.
I had a puncture today (rear tyre), the lease company sent out a recovery vehicle rather than try to fix it on the roadside. As the driver was taking my car off the vehicle he noticed the inside edge of the good rear tyre was very worn, on checking the flat tyre it was the same.
He pointed out...
My price per kwh at home now is ~51p, public chargers near me are 30p for rapid and 20p for fast.
Hoping the local council have a long term deal with their supplier so they don't have to hike their prices as well.
No idea what this means for future car batteries but still amazing news.

I had the dreaded HV cut off today but unlike other times it's happened, nothing I did would clear it.
Called the AA out, he checked the 12v battery ok then linked into the obd2 and found no errors (he said you never do see an error for this fault) but he cleared the codes anyway and presto...
A team at the Drexel made a discovery by chance that means a Lithium Sulphide battery is workable. Previously they could get it to work once but not recharge.
They've had one on test charge/discharge for 4000 cycles and it hasn't failed or even degraded.
The reasons this is good news is that 1)...
