Mine does this and it’s front suspension bushes. A bit of a squirt with silicone spray sorts them out.
To be honest a number of my past cars have done this and it’s really common due to the type of bushes used in most vehicles.
Tyres wise, my MG5 came with special slippy Bridgestone Ecopia but due to a damaged tyre a pair were swapped for Hankook Ventus Prime 4 which I have found far superior to the Contis.
Battery % is calculated using the voltage, which itself varies with temperature. It’s quite likely that the cooling battery will show lowering terminal voltage, hence calculated %.
Either that or it wandered off somewhere for a while.
Evening all.
My 5 radio started displaying “radio module initialising” a couple of days ago. It would still play the station it was on but I couldn’t change station. Resetting the infotainment system didn’t fix it but a brief disconnection of the 12V battery did the job, albeit with a Christmas...
To be fair it’s rather a throwback to ICE vehicles. If the negative lead of the radio is connected to the battery then, should the engine earth strap fail (not unheard of) then all of the starting current can find its way back to the battery through the radio chassis.
Hot hot hot!
Afternoon all,
In looking at reduction drive oil specifications I found myself wondering if the MG EVs use wet motor lubrication systems...if so then this would mean there are points to be aware of when choosing a reduction drive oil. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much, if any, decent...
There will be a nice big grommet where the loom goes through the bulkhead so I would suggest using that.
Just as a point to note and apologies if this is teaching you to suck eggs, a fused connection to the battery +ve is fine but make sure to connect the negative lead directly to the...
The OE oil is Shell SL2808 but is a bit of a mare to get hold of. MG dealer service departments can supply it.
Apparently it is Shell E6 iX which is, I think, a 75W oil but specifically for wet motor EV applications, so is likely non-conductive.
I have kept a log of charging for the whole of ,y ownership of my MG5 because I was interested in just what mileage I would get per kWh. I have yet to examine the data contained in the log.
Frequently use Gridserve chargers on my trips from London to Aberystwyth and I see this fairly often. If you let the charge go past about 90% then at some point the charge ends abruptly with the vehicle having terminated it as it was unhappy with the response time of the charger when commanded...
Sort of, yes and no. It's really more that the HT and magmount isn't really doing that well in general so it would be nice to get it properly installed for the next longish trip I have at the beginning of June.
Right, I’m going to get mine installed in the next week or two.
My antenna mount will be fitted in the middle of the rear of the roof (can be replaced with a shark fin for later sale if necessary) and the radio main unit will likely be installed under the boot floor panel. A (fused!) power cable...
