Correct. So must disable every time you start. The low/med/high sensitivity isn't persistent either so resets to med each time it enables itself i.e when the car is powered on.
As I said above tho, I haven't heard it once in the med setting despite trying to trigger it.
Just tested this and mine stays off until the car is powered off. This was across various speeds above and below 37 and putting it in park at the lights etc. Left it active on the way back and not a coffee cup in sight despite my attempts not to pay attention 😅.
Oh I haven't noticed that. Just been town driving since the initial test. I'll try that out and report back. Fwiw it didn't chime or flash up at all on my test run when left enabled.
Praise be! The update has resolved the issue. The annoying thing is that the option to permanently silence but not disable is gone. I can only disable it but this re-enables on next start up, as before. It does seem a lot less sensitive than before however I will just have to kill it each...
That's right. It's not the DMS alert that is sounding but a warning that the module is faulty which cannot be silenced. The options for the module disappeared from the menu. It's as if it's the new firmware for the cars without the sensor but the system recognises an uninstalled component.
Dealer advised me there is a bulletin out today regarding driver monitoring system. Looks like I'll be the guinea pig again. Getting the door lock update also.
Yeah, to be clear, I was living with it like that then it went in for the infotainment watermark update and now the options for Drowsiness monitoring system are missing and it sounds a constant fault chime that the module is faulty.
Well my car has been at the dealer now for nearly 8 weeks waiting on the fix for permanent drowsiness monitoring system fault. I've got a big standard ZS in the meantime but I'm getting pretty hacked off now to say the least. Not really sure how to escalate this in terms of getting a similar...
That was the same situation as me. It's still with the dealer. I have a loan ZS. I will be chasing them today but they are waiting for MG to tell them how to unf*ck it. Their demo car is also affected.
The alert is loud to the point of distraction and of course masks any other alerts.
I would...
I was living with it silenced but popping up on screen. Mine went in for updates while getting the TPMS calibrated and now sounds constantly with this error. The options to silence and disable below the tows mode are gone. It's practically undrivable and is sitting at the dealer until it's fixed...
Just to update my car is still with the dealer. I noticed that the indicators are silent now too despite car warnings volume being 2 at the minimum. They've given me a ZS in the meantime.
I posted in the Software Updates thread but add my name to the list of Driver Monitoring System faults. Went in for R30 update to clear the AA "preproduction hardware" issue. That wasn't resolved but now got this fault bonging away constantly. The DMS options in the menu have disappeared.
Oddly...
