The great big insurance rip off

our insurance renewal for end of January went from £297 last year to £697, got a quote from LV (got house insurance with them), they quoted £489, tried a comparison site, out of 72 results the lowest was £489 (not LV). So will be going with LV.

    Home charger recommendations

wouldn't recommend a 3.4kw charger in the UK, have seen the ones on UK eBay that say 3.6kw, a bit worrying when the maximum size fuse for a plug top is 13amps. 3.6kw is 15.6 amps, would definitely run hot and most likely melt the plug if they are truly over 3kw, I'm guessing the figures are...

Do you keep a 'charge log'? ⚡️

the battery is under warranty, my electric is free via solar, there's enough stress in life without worrying about kw and battery charge percentages, all I know is, I used to spend £80 a month on diesel & £700 per year on road tax, now I spend £0000

Myenergi Home Battery The LiBBI looks Fantastic

I already charge the car for free during the day so no point changing tarif (cheap tarif while kids and wife are asleep...

Myenergi Home Battery The LiBBI looks Fantastic

I have a 5kw solar system, would love to install a battery system but the maths just do not work for me, a 10kw battery system will at maximum be charged once a day (35pence x 10) means it will store £3.50 per day. Even if it was charged and discharged every day, that will still only save me...

    £1 per kWh

cost me materials only, installed 5kw system myself been running 1 year and on course to have paid for itself within 2 years,

    £1 per kWh

I'm luckier still, costs me 0.0p/kwh charging on sunny days via solar power, (as long as we don't get 2 weeks of solid cloud .)
