The only issue with such a poll here is that those who subscribe are more likely to be one sided in favour of their car if they are still owners. I would suggest that earlier MG ZS EV’s were plagued with certain reliability issues (steering, water leaks) but would also suggest that quality...
I do a 650 miles round trip regularly between Motherwell and Cheltenham and have no issues charging. The more often you do it the easier it gets as you will know exactly where are the best places to charge.
I am now on an Elli charging (Powerpass) subscription and use BP Pulse regularly and...
I am on Octopus Go, have 3.4kw rated solar, 11.4kw battery storage, an Eddi and 2 EVs. I export nothing to the grid. All my excess goes to the house then battery, hot water tank or EV in that order. Even if I wasn’t on maximum FIT I would still be looking at avoiding any export and trying to use...
Just use Blackcircles for tyre prices, add your registration number and it should come up with various prices of different tyres fitted by local garages.
Gas is double the price of Octopus and electricity more expensive. I won‘t be moving and staying put. OVO Energy estimate was over 3x the price I am currently paying.
You need to fully charge every now and then to balance the cells so just charge the car when you get an opportunity and don’t overthink or listen to the online nonsense. I’ve had a BMW i3 for 3 years and charge it as often as I can either from solar or free public charging. So far, by accessing...
I’ve researched thoroughly. Currently there is £7.5k cash back on installation in Scotland. Our heating is never higher than 17 degrees so not looking for a boiling hot house. Nice ambient temperature will be ideal.
Shouldn’t need significant, they are pretty efficient. I am also looking at battery storage which will be filled to capacity very night from off peak and solar during the day.
I’m still £80 and still well in credit. I also have solar so actual bills will remain low over the next few months but I’m expecting prices to go up a lot when our current tariff ends. Personally I’m looking at going onto air source heat pump now and removing gas completely.
That’s unfortunate, I get maximum rate FIT despite the fact that I use virtually all of my solar generation. I also have a Myenergi Eddi to divert energy to my hot water tank so nearly all surplus is used.
I have solar, 2 EV’s and on the Octopus Go tariff, currently 5p off peak and 16p peak but due to end and go up in price come August. I am in the process of applying for grants/cash back for battery storage and air source heat pump. There is £7.5k cash back in Scotland for the latter and 0% loans...
I reckon it would take around 30 years to recover the cost of a battery installation so bear in mind that for around 4 months of the year there is very little solar generation and the Octopus Go 5p off peak is unlikely to last either. Best option for me was installing an MyEnergi Eddi to heat my...
You cannot coast in the ZS EV like an ICE car as regen is always on even in the lowest setting. If you are on the motorway set the KERS to the lowest setting though to maximise downhill stretches. Either or, you will never visibly see any difference to your range. You can however coast downhill...
I’m in a 4 bed detached house with garden room, charging 2 cars and I’m only £80 a month for gas and electricity combined on Octopus Agile and currently almost £300 in credit.
