    Airbnb

I always ask and leave a tenner, if they say yes. I think it's the decent thing to do, I'm also a landlord so can see it from the other side

    V2L Again.... sorry

It's perfect so far, there's a small LED in the top left screw position on the front, that shows when the socket is live. I'm not into testing it to see how much it would supply but it powered 2 electric radiators to about 2.8Kw without any problems. It's a good tight, secure fit both into the...

    V2L Again.... sorry

There were a few posts a while ago about V2L adaptors, mostly about the ridiculous cost of some and, honestly the shocking, (sorry) quality of some of the cheaper options..... Well, I have just taken delivery of one from AliExpress, £28.19....... free shipping, and I got it in a week Of...

    'E-Rating' system for EVs

No, not really they said it's some kind of combination of range, economy, charge speed and regen. I don't think it's actually a bad metric to use.

    'E-Rating' system for EVs

Just out of interest, I saw this and thought there might be worth a look. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/electriccars/article-11250551/The-efficient-electric-cars-cost-hundreds-pounds-charge.html https://www.electrifying.com/efficiency-rating

    Charging Woes

I absolutely agree with @shaunuk, make the charging part of the trip rather than a chore to be done. One other thing, in my opinion only. You said "we" were going on a trip, so you have a wife/significant other in the car, Are they interested in the whole EV lifestyle? we are still a bit niche...

    Charging Woes

I do think you can get a free trial, for, maybe 30 days, give it a go, nothing to lose, right?

    Charging Woes

You'll need the premium one to use it on your infotainment system, connected with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. I don't know how well it works, On my old zs mod1 it was terrible. I have't tried it on the new car

That Gridserve hub is great, I'll never get to use it, 'cos it's only 5 miles from home, but it looks fantastic

    Window Tinting

A quick update, having had the tint done a few days ago and had a couple of sunny days. It makes a MASSIVE difference to the heat in the car, both on the driving seat and steering wheel.

I think this is the way it should be

I really like the 75/150/300 kw Idea, and the reasoning behind it. BUT I think the 7Kw chargers should be free if you're shopping and for 2 1/2 or 3 hours. It can't be beyond the ability to stop charging at 20Kwh. There's a Tesla guy who parks in a Lidl, free charging bay, ALL DAY..... most...

I think this is the way it should be

I just came across this video, I wanted to share it. I think this is how it SHOULD be, what do you think?

    Free home charging point ?

It would be nice but no, I'm afraid that they don't do it any more. You might find some funding out there but I doubt it now. If you do, let everyone know

    Window Tinting

The reason we did the front was mostly to stop the heat and UV.

My red one tinted for comparison. 15% on the back 5 windows and UV Pro 70 on the front 3 windows.

Apps and Charge Cards - which do you recommend?

There are more and more 'contactless' options out there but apply for a couple of apps, Podpoint and Shell. but the biggest bit of advice I can give you is....... make sure you have more than one contactless payment card, at least 2 maybe 3.
