Someone is on a 'normal' standard tariff, why would they buy an MG4 in this example?

This whole thread is based on the original poster's mistake in claiming the current electricity price is 54p/kWh. If they'd bothered to check the real rate they probably wouldn't have made the erroneous claim that there's parity in costs between ICE and EVs, and wouldn't have needed to double...

    Byd Atto 3

The EV rebate and other incentives varies between Australian states but it's around $3,000 at the moment and applies to most cars under ~$70k. Both the Atto 3 and ZS EV are around $45-$48k (on road) before the rebate.

Double genius if he can get out of that bumper-to-bumper parking spot.

    Petrol station visit was weird.

Yes, a while ago I had to get some petrol for the lawn mower and the stink of it struck me most, and the inevitable bit of spill that will get washed away into gutters and streams. Fortunately for me the mower was on its last legs and I've replaced it with a battery model that makes me actually...

Wonder how long before this comes to the UK watch out MG5

Aha, thanks. Quite a difference between the two. Looks like they might have been quoting the city WLTP range for the e6.

Wonder how long before this comes to the UK watch out MG5

My WLTP for the ZS EV is spot on. It obviously varies depending on conditions but overall it's very accurate. Anyway, as virtually all manufacturers use it it's valid for comparison. The 3.6 m/kWh for the BYD is virtually the same as the new ZS EV.

Wonder how long before this comes to the UK watch out MG5

The battery in the BYD e6 is actually 71.7 kWh and the WLTP range is 415km or 258 miles so the efficiency on those figures is 3.6 m/kWh which is pretty good.

MG Australia - Great Opportunity Missed!

The ZS EV is certainly the most popular EV in Australia, behind the Tesla Model 3 (by a fair margin) and MG are promoting it quite well having recently announced a program of providing free chargers to hotels and motels in regional areas. But they are doing really well with their ICE models -...

MG Australia stepping up with chargers

This article - MG Australia supplying up to 3000 EV chargers for rural hotels - shows how MG is trying to help with charging infrastructure and also place themselves as a force in the promotion of EVs in Australia. The ZS EV has been consistently the 2nd top seller behind the Tesla Model 3 since...

One for our Australian Members! Is most of this true??

This is accurate. The Discussion Paper that preceded this stupid strategy (***) in February this year was actually what made me decide to wait no longer and buy my first EV. It was plain that I'd be waiting forever for the government to provide help so I figured once the ZS EV arrived here and...

Victoria EV owners told to submit odometer readings

Unfortunately their case seems to be a bit like in 'The Castle' though I'm not sure they'll have the same result.

That's hilarious. Nice Chris Lorax reference with the title.

Aussie EV road tax charge more than ICE or Hybrid ? Crikey!!!

Hopefully the cross bench will oppose this, and it looks like this Melbourne rental company is banking on that. What a good idea to have MG ZS EV rentals available to spread the word and give people a real chance to try them out...
