Even though i'm now driving a Kia E Niro, my story is still relevant!
Yesterday on nice little drive around the Derbyshire contriside, I was forced into the very edge of a mucky old B road by a fast travelling HGV...no probs.....but 30 seconds later there was a 'tap tap tapping' from the front...
I've just come back from Cazoo......wonderful people to deal with....no quiberling with the price and the money was in my bank before I arrived home! I can thoroughly recomend them.😁 ...unlike some other folk in the same business!:(
In a muddy fields or in the snow FWD is better than RWD......look at all the sets of BMW winter wheels on eBay!
I too suffer from front wheel 'squeak' if i'm driving vigorously.....always get a frown from the co-driver.:censored:
I was in a brief convoy comming back from Norfolk yesterday.....in the rain, on the A52 near Nottingham..... I was following a new Hyundai and was overtaken by a black Vauxhall EV.
Incidentally my non-stop trip was 155 miles with 15 left in the 'tank' at 4.1 KPM . In the rain, blowing a gale...
I like the MG suspension just as it is. Its MUCH comfier than our Mitsubishi PHEV .....one of the reasons the Mitsubishi is gathering dust in the garage.
Yes I've had winter tyres for my last 3 cars....and have still got them for the PHEV, and I must admit I do like a "A class" wet grip tyre.
But all tyres are trade-offs. Ride / Comfort/ grip/ noise. I think the standard tyres on the ZS EV are a good balance. Being retired, I don't do any...
If you need winter tyres.....you need winter tyres.
Here in the Midlands, they would have been handy for me, on average, on about 1.5 days a year...over the last 4 years. ......So I'm not bothering with this car.
I am the sort of person who doesn't like to "Pay Retail"......If I can get a bit off, I feel better about the deal. I'm not the only one..look at all you folk with your times charging etc, all trying to save a few bob.
That doesn't mean that I don't have the Air-con on when needed...I do...
Something else you may want to think about.....A slight smear of copper grease on the back face of the wheel / wheel hub..is no bad thing. If the wheels dont get removed for a year or two, they can STICK even when you remove all the wheel nuts.
I had this on a Jeep and no matter how hard I...
I use cruise control occasionally.....but get the distinct impression that I get better range by driving carefully, which is only really important on long trips of course......I do a regular one of 155 miles and usually end up with over 20 miles "in the tank"....In fact I will being doing that...
British technology at its finest....from the early 70's I owned a succesion of over 100 cars.....all old British. My early work as a mechanic certainly helped in keeping them on the road.
Well if you need the AA I hope you get better service than I did 2 weeks ago.
I was in my classic car which boiled over. After waiting 5 hours with no show, we hired our own breakdown truck for £60 for the 5 mile trip home. Being an Auto it was not worth risking wrecking the gearbox by towing...
