One of the challenges with these sort of problems is that many of the reported incidents are not actually software issues but driver error.
There are also of course many genuine software and other fault related issues.
Dealers can get complacent and start to treat most reports as user error...
Octopus is one of the best EV electric home tariffs at the moment. If you go with them do’t forget to get a referral code from an existing user and you’ll get £50 towards your bill.
You can use octopus intelligent with any EV.
They only have certain makes where they have access to the manufacturers API - this is when they have access and can connect direct to the car and control the charge.
If this functionality is turned off in the octopus app you can charge any car and...
Is this an official ‘recall’ where all affected cars get recall notices, or is it just a ‘fix’ for the issue that will be applied ad-hoc? This has been an issue with past ‘solutions’. Recalls should be official registered and letters sent out (like the locking in problem for example).
Do you have any pics? Who told you that it’s not covered under warranty? Under normal conditions paintwork should be able to deal with bird droppings - as long as they are not left for a very long time and the car paintwork not washed - even then the paint can usually be mopped back.

Has anyone ever seen advice from 7kw home charger manufacturers not to use coiled up?
I’ve never seen this and I know of a few who never fully uncoil before charging. I didn’t think it made any difference on a type 2 cable connected to a 7kw charger. It would be interesting if anyone has a user...
Hmmm. This is the root of the problem - ownership, or the lack of it.
It’s easy to pass on responsibility. As far as I’m concerned I just want and expect good service. I don’t care if dealers need to contact China or wherever to get instructions - just sort it for me.
The MG strategy after all...
Dealers should supply documentation to confirm all work is done - but they seldom do. It makes you wonder if they do this to facilitate ignorance in the face of any comeback.
I think that it’s really professional of you to analyse your driving in conjunction with how the cars systems performed. Many would just criticise the system. By reviewing in the way you are, you will be able to continually develop your driving skills and also be more aware of when the software...
I Agree. The only thing that is relevant is that you can set a max temp for inside (say 40c) and if it’s reached it auto turns on hvac to cool the interior.
Not sure if this has any relevance but my Tesla regularly sees 40c+ when parked on a hot day. For example now it’s 13c outside and 23c inside while parked up.
