Bit of reassurance for the MG5

My previous car was a 59 reg A3, I have bought a brand new MG5 and not even considered a brand new A3. My daily comute is 50 miles, if it was a company car I'd still have the MG5. With a 10miles commute company car I would had been happy with as brand new A3.

Final jigsaw piece.... How far should I go up the Mway.

Once my SOC turns red and shows less than 25% I only think where is the closest charger. Running the battery close to empty shortens it's life

    WANTED MG5

Back in September 2021 I have paid £24.5k on Affinity (they offered to everybody) back when gov grant was £2.5k, now dropped to £1.5k. That is for an MG5 Exclusive LR

Battery percentage, Ah or kWh? Battery degradation if charged 100 %?

My GOM gives me the same, 2m/1% but mine is a LR, half of my commute is on the motorway and I get 3.5m/kw

Its amazing how ice drivers are environment experts

To be honest I expect to be around 85% SOH but I want to avoid the dispute, car pays for itself in fuel only and there is serious residual value. I live in Burnside and sometimes I charge it in Cambuslang P&R but not last Sunday. South Lanarkshire Charge Place Scotland is free, in my estimate I...

Its amazing how ice drivers are environment experts

I have done 10k miles in my MG5 LR, I guess it lost £4k off its brand new price and the leccy it has spent is worth £640 on my current Scottish Power tariff so it has cost me 46p/mile, a quarter of your estimate. SOH of battery is reported as 100% and going with other reports I reckon I am...

    MG5 Long Range - real range ?

Your numbers work out as 3.5miles/kw, this winter I have managed 3m/kw, when I have picked it up in September it was 3.6m/kw. In ideal conditions you might get 250m if you avoid high speeds and hills.

    Warranty vs Mileage vs Battery

Ideal scenario for leasing if the numbers are right. Teslas hold their SOH better than anybody else with historic data to prove it. I can only speculate what a car that first came out 2 years ago would be after 7 years.

    Warranty vs Mileage vs Battery

LR 60kwh. In September I was getting 3.6miles/kwh, now on cold days I get 2-2.5 miles/kwh. It should reach above 4 in summer over flat ground. I never worry about range, my commute is 50 miles.

    Warranty vs Mileage vs Battery

35k/year means 134 miles/working day on average, real life range is 180 miles (I own same car and half my miles are on motorway) which means if battery capacity drops to 74% you will have to stop and recharge it during the day (sooner when you do more than 134 miles a day). Look at 3 year...

What's your miles per kw? (Poll)

I got 3.4m/kw over my first 1500m, half of it on motorways. That number only matters when charge drops or on long journeys. I am on 15p/kw, if I push to 4m/kw it would save me £1.35 on a charge, not worth the bother.

    Instavolt refusing to release cable?

This has happened to me on a Gridserve charger, it would not stop charging no matter what. Spoke to them on the phone the guy could not connect remotely to the charger, eventually, the cable was released without the guy on the phone realizing it did, left then was billed for £20, about 3x the...
