If battery was fully charged in your test drive there would be no noticeable regeneration. There has to be some room for the regenerated electrons to go. Using an ICE analogy: you can’t put an extra gallon /litre in an already full tank.

I have an EO charger which has worked well since installed over three years ago. I’m with EDF at 13.43 per kWh night and 54.7 day time. However night is 9.00pm til 7.00 am every day and all week end from 9 Fri til 7 Monday. Solar panels help as I generally charge during week ends.
