As someone who used to sell In Car Entertainment (the other ICE) solutions and worked in Sound Systems one thing you will NEVER get in a car is audiophile quality sound. With such a mixture of hard and soft surfaces at different angles, speakers in the wrong place for an effective sound stage...
My Freelander 2 had its DAB aerial as a set of elements in the boot side window. No problem with it although it tended to switch transmitters 2 or 3 times on the way to work
I find the rear window a little strange. MG think it ok to delete elements yet other manufacturers have extra de-icing...
If they are Fog lights ( defined by position not beam pattern) they should be wired using a relay from the side lights. The earth of the coil is then connected to the high beam power line.
When turned on the coil will ground through the headlamp filaments but if main beam turns on the coil then...
If you are using "add-a-fuse" adaptors then go for the electric seat fuses. The seats work even with ignition off and the is no ECU monitoring to get confused by extra loads.
The end panel is more to get access to remove the two screws not to access the fuse box. The real access to the fuse box is by removing the under dash trim panel, it just takes a little confidence to give it the pull the panel needs to remove it.
Having said that my other vehicle is a Discovery...
I think in my case what made it harder was the cable for the rear camera was terminated with a USB Mini B plug. The rubber conduit between the tailgate and the body is not that big gettting the larger plug body through needed a bit of care.
Probably of more importance when running through the...
If going for a rear camera getting it through and into the tailgate is fiddly and time consuming without the right tools, front main unit is indeed straightforward. Access to the fuse box is not immediately obvious as trying to do it through the dash end panel is not how a workshop would do it.
The underside around the spare wheel well looks like there are no modifications for the battery system so it is highly likely that, if you could get a tow bar for the original Roewe it would still fit.
However to tow the Gross Train Weight has to be greater than the Gross Vehicle Weight on the...
The fact that the MG5 EV has no towing capabilities is not that dissimilar to a number of other BEVs, particularly until recently. It isn't until the release of the ID4 has VW included towing capabilities. In particular revamped ICE chassis often lost their access to towbar fixings with the need...
The range quoted in advertising material is always in optimal circumstances. It will be with extra loads turned off, best road conditions and so on and from fully charged and balanced right down to the battery showing 0% remaining. The 80% upper limit is where rapid charging should end but there...
"Fitted" is open to interpretation. Yes they had the same PCD and stud count so they fit, but what about the offset. Do they clear the inner wheel arch at full lock both ways at full suspension compression, how much of the outer face of the tyre protrude beyond the outer wheel arch? Obviously...
If after an accident the inspection show up the bulbs fitted AND there is the slightest sniff of they may be relevant then yes they will (or more importantly YOU will care)
Done a little bit more digging:
The Highway code is in itself not law and
Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989, Reg.25,(2),(b),(ii).
ii)in seriously reduced visibility, a pair of front fog lamps which is so fitted that the outermost part of the illuminated area of each lamp in the pair is...
I can't find a current succinct guide but the rules for a fog light was within 18in of the ground OR below the leading edge of the bumper whichever is lower, it will have at least been changed to metric if nothing else. There is nothing about beam pattern in the rules, its all about position...
Where an accessory is a paid for option it is not unlikely the wiring for it would be there. However when it is defined by the model or trim level then it is less likely.
The excite would have a different loom part number when building a large number of cars
There have been a few different “universal” spare solutions over the years. I can remember one that had spiral slots that involved rotating the wheel on the hub to get the right pcd aligned with special washers under the bolts/nuts.
Harking back to the insurance issue the recovery company will...
