Project OBD2 - Mobile App v1.2.1 and later

I’m pretty sure that the SoC you’re talking about at 97.3% is the true SoC, there is also another PID that shows 100%. As far as the bms is concerned it tells you publicly it’s 100% charged as that is when the battery is charged as full as it will allow it. The BMS also knows the real battery...

Project OBD2 - Mobile App v1.2.1 and later

Hi I've been off the forum for a while, but what's this about the SoC not being correctly shown in the Thai App? I recently on ZS mk1 screen grabbed my SoC on the Thai App a few miles before I got to MG where I saw the SoC on their MG laptop. App was 85.3, MG was 83.5, which seems about right...

Project OBD2 - Mobile App v1.2.1 and later

Did you kinda “uncompile” the apk file to do this, this is something I’ve not played around with

Project OBD2 - Mobile App v1.2.1 and later

Hang on a minute... if you didn't have the range showing then your car didn't have the "comfort pack 2" installed (correctly anyway). A car made in Dec 2020 and indeed sold from a while before that, should have come with the comfort pack 2 software on it. The cars with the driving modes...

Project OBD2 - Mobile App v1.2.1 and later

Have you noticed what the changes are? From what we think of the BMS version number format, you had a build from 11th January previously, now you have one from 28th January. From ECU Module version spreadsheet 28/01/2020 (622 A00) 0128622A00 Australian version? (a car was updated 22/3/2021)...

What's your total mileage - any where near where you'd "expect" to start getting degradation? Do you do many DC charges?

MG ZS EV ECU data via the Torque Pro app

I was thinking along this lines. If you can't get it all into one "value", I wonder if you could get the data in one entry, then use virtual PIDS to grab each byte from that and do a lookup.

Project OBD2 - Mobile App v1.2.1 and later

That would concern me too. Have you been collecting the data to see if there's anything there that could explain it? Have you been doing full AC charges and balances recently, that should allow the car to figure out what the true correct full voltage attainable is.

Project OBD2 - Mobile App v1.2.1 and later

It'll be the configuration updates that they have to do as well when it's plugged into the laptop. It'd be nice if there was a way to pull these mysterious config settings from the ECU...

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

I'm surprised it stopped balancing at 0.023V difference, unless it ran out of time?

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

I think you're going to have to say it's taking forever to balance, then they'll update it.

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

I'd say at 0.021v difference, you're very nearly there but not quite. Anything less than 0.020 difference is considered balanced from my data experience.

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

9mV (0.009V) difference between min and max is absolutely amazing!!! All my full charge/balances are between 0.016 and 0.019.

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

I really don't know what the VCU could do, it's a pretty generic term 'Vehicle Control Unit' so there's no hint even. Keep your eyes peeled for any differences!

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

I've exported it as an excel xlsx. I'll do this every time I update it so it's in both formats :) https://www.dropbox.com/s/d4wmoi2ph6jewlu/MGZSEVversions.xlsx?dl=0

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

Oh no, don't charge it up and pay if you can help it lol. Look at my varying figures: I cannot spot any reason why it doesn't always charge to the exact same voltage and/or SOC, recently I'm capturing a bit more data when I can of start/end charge time and balance - to try to figure it out. I...

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

This shows nicely how the charge is all a mess! Your voltage has gone from 443.0 to 448.25 yet your SOC has gone from 93.5 to 92.8! It's kinda what i've been saying though, the SOC is based on the highest cell voltage not the total voltage. Give it a few more charges to definitely get totally...

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

I'm a mac man......so its the mac spreadsheet format, I'd have thought most programs should be able to open it.... I did get someone else to check they could open it after I posted it..

So they updated the BMS and VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) modules.

    ECU Module version spreadsheet

Cheers Mike Coincidence, I only realised a few days ago the spreadsheet was a picture rather than an actual spreadsheet that folk could search/sort. I've put a link in now to it on my dropbox, so it's downloadable https://www.dropbox.com/s/mpx74uckhpmepuq/MGZSEVversions.numbers?dl=0 Slightly...
