As it says on the tin. Sometimes it boots back up in Fahrenheit and you can't change it back to centigrade. Take it to a dealer if you are having issues.
You could disconnect the 12v battery, that's all they did the first time my MG5 was in.
It has since done it again but Richmond cant book it in until late October 😪
If you have a type2 lead then have a look at the socket on that and compare the pins. The CP pin in normally shorter so it makes contact last and doesn't tell the the EVSE to put 240v on the larger L1 pin.
If it is thecsame as my MG5 'granny' EVSE then it uses a 13A plug socket but draws about 2.2kw which is 10A. Not sure why yours is only 8A but how are you measuring it?
Most home EVSE are 7.5kw about three times quicker than the 2.2kw 'granny'.
I add about 35% battery a day so couldn't do that on a granny in my 4 hour 5p slot
