    BP Pulse intro membership deal.

I have a BP Pulse subscription and I make pretty good use of it (at 26k miles per year I do a fair amount of public charging). I've only ever had a problem once and that was at Milton Keynes so no surprise there, as the chargers are about 300 years old now. The big plus point is the RFID card...

    Home Wall Charger

Mine is on ethernet and frankly it's not much better... It resolutely fails to charge at 12.30am and at 12.45 it works nearly all the time!

    Home Wall Charger

All I can say is don't get a ProjectEV wall box. I'm on my third one since July and it's just getting worse with each update.

    Home charger and main fuse

Hmm. Maybe bend the fuse holder with a hammer and report it as damaged? Or perhaps not 🤣

    Home charger and main fuse

Ah yes if it's like UKPN the metal ones need to be replaced so you would need to do the whole lot. Having said that is the power company insist on changing them then they shouldnt charge for it? I'd make a fuss, ask them what you pay your standing charge for.

    Home charger and main fuse

We cook on electric, have two electric showers, some electric heated flooring plus the immersion and the car and have never gone above 80. Above 60 though, yes almost certainly! They should be able to change the 60 for an 80 with minimal fuss, as long as your tails from the fuse to the meter are...

    Home charger and main fuse

That's insane, UK Power Networks did both of mine for free. Are you on a shared spur with a neighbour or something? Simon.

ESB card for Northern Ireland if you live in the UK

This is the sort of useful real world experience that appears to be missing from the conversation around electric vehicles. In the south east we are so well supported for charging although it's expensive. In Scotland they have a great network but I think the habit of leaving your car plugged in...

    MG5 or MG4?

My gut reaction is that as a first car the MG4 is probably your best option, unless you need that extra space and ease of loading (as well as the lack of a loading lip on the boot rhe rear door apertures are bigger on the 5) the advantage of a little less range anxiety and the more modern design...

    MG5 or MG4?

My wife has an original Ford Puma and despite being practically half the size of anything I've driven in the last 20 years I resolutely cannot park it straight in a space. I think it's cos the door windows slope towards the front of the car...

ESB card for Northern Ireland if you live in the UK

Evening folks. Probably taking a trip to NI and possibly ROI in a few weeks. Looking at the charging options away from big towns and it's not great. Will very likely get the ESB app but I'm wary of the problems people seem to have in Scotland, where its advised if you have the time you also get...

Poll on owning & using a Type 2 "fast" charge cable

I have a type 2 cable but then I have an untethered 7kW home charger, and I wanted to make the best possible use of my 4hr 7.5p/kWh window. I haven't used it anywhere apart from home since the end of July.

    Hard to see MG5s

So on my 1 week trip I saw one matching MG5 at the McDonalds charger just outside Oswestry (Oswestry itself was a bit of a disaster area for charging) and had a nice chat with the driver, who had just switched from an Ioniq, I think. We saw another 3 during the trip, one black taxi and two white...

    Hard to see MG5s

Ha yes I do that, the Passat drivers must think I'm potty... I had a Passat before I got the MG, in a similar colour. Had my MG5 for 6 weeks and most people haven't even noticed I have a new car :)

    Hard to see MG5s

This has been our experience so far, we're here on holiday. Luckily our rented cottage has a charger, if not I think I'd be struggling.

Home charger - what do you use?

I've actually got mine working now. Took a new unit (slightly later version) an update, a switch to another app, then a switch back cos that app had rubbish logging. I wish I'd gone for an Ohme though cos of its compatibility with Octopus, given the car doesn't have an app so there's no point...

    "Electric Miles" app

That's all I want it to do! But mine would start happily at 1am, just not 12.30am. I've got a couple of weeks till my tariff change kicks in so I'll have a play. If I can't get on with this app I'll change the URL back in the charger and go back to their app, see if this slightly newer charger...

    "Electric Miles" app

Hi Harry will yours schedule charges at 12.30am? That was the problem with mine, support pushed a firmware upgrade to it and it never worked again... Hence the replacement today. Simon.
