Absolutely brilliant 👏
The slower average speed also demonstrates that speed is an important factor. This as well as hills. In the UK, drivers in Lincolnshire and Norfolk get far better range figures than us over in the Royal Forest of Dean where every 10 miles driven averages 1,000ft of...
In the UK if you have the Connect version of the MG ZS EV then you can connect to its incar WiFi Hotspot and use that for connections. The Connect uses a multi-network SIM.
The ONLY thing that will produce any discernable improvement in the range of your ZS EV is driving it slower. ECO, NORMAL and SPORT modes do not govern the speed you drive the car at, you control that.
I will post up some physics to explain why ECO makes absolutely no difference to the range of the car other than the fact it reduced the power used by the HVAC system and makes it uncomfortable in the cabin.
This is my last nearly 4500 miles of driving with almost entirely Normal mode. I do sometimes use Sport mode for the fun :)
For anyone to suggest that by driving in eco mode the MG ZS EV will achieve a 10 to 15% improvement is having a laugh and misleading new and potential BEV owners.
There...
If you search the forum you will see that I have posted up ample examples of the range of the MG ZS EV when driving in Normal mode and finding little difference when driv8ng in eco mode.
There is absolutely no way that driving in eco mode improves range by 10 to 15% - this is not an opinion, it...
I just don't like people that spout utter nonsense on forums a d totally mislead people.
No need to show route, just show two photos of dashboard after each drive that shows the 10 to 15 percent improvement. The photos should show same distance covered and roughly same average speed.
The rated range is 273 miles.
You suggest you get 232 miles in NORMAL mode and 273 miles ECO mode with exactly the route and driving style ?
If you drive at 70mph on the Motorway you will get close to the same range no matter what "driving style" or "driving mode" you select.
ECO mode merely...
ABRP plans the route and sorts out the chargers. For actually following the route you can then get ABRP to hand the route over to Google Maps :-)
Saves a lot of faffing about.
I do like WattsUP for finding Chargers in an area I am not familiar with.
If you are going for long range trips then get:
Tesla App
Ionity App
Instavolt App
For Scotland, SWARCO (Charge Place Scotland) App.
Most Rapid Chargers now accept payment by CC or DC. But it can be useful to have the apps.
WattsUp is a good app for finding chargers in areas you are not...
For long trips ABRP sorts it all out for you.
If you have a suitable OBD2 dongle it will connect to that and learn how you drive as well.
For longer trips I set to it only use CCS sites with 4 or more chargers.
It also knows which Tesla sites you can use.
It makes long distance trips a...
Maybe not a video, but…..
From the main screen I click on “Search on map”
I then enter the destination using the keypad.
In this case I have selected a location a Norwich. Then click the Flag Icon to set this as the destination.
An overview map will appear showing the route and...
