Thanks for putting this together. It's something that really irritates me.
7kwh or 3.6 kw/h chargers and 64Kw batteries 😩
Maybe somebody could refer the Audi advertising team to this thread:
If I was being pedantic I might point out that SI unit rules state that there should be a space...
I think your getting confused between pressurised storage Vs cryogenic storage.
An Ariane rocket tank weighs 5.5 tons and contains 28 tons of liquid hydrogen. They are only 1.3mm thick.
If we want to decarbonise long haul travel the only options are liquid hydrogen or synthetic aviation fuel. A lot of the characteristics of liquid hydrogen that make it unsuitable for ground transport don't apply to aviation.
It might have less volumetric energy so it'll require fuel tanks ~4x...
We use between 240 and 280 kWh per month in electric. We have free charging at work so it is very rare that we charge the car at home.
This is for 2 of us plus a three year old so the tumble drier is running often.
I can't see anything obviously wrong apart from a full charge is 61.7kWh as that is the useable capacity and it'll only be ~90% efficient when charging so multiply that by 1.1.
If anything that should push it even further in the favour of the octopus tariff.
Yes, the average member of the public is that stupid. As evidenced by:
"but I have spoken to people who genuinely expect that their bill will not pass £2500 no matter how much electricity that they use !!!"
I would counter this by saying that the cost parity relied on the charging costs being less. EV's are usually more expensive to purchase but the savings occur later due to total cost of ownership differences. Surely nobody could deny that the situation has changed recently due to higher...
Hopefully back on topic. I really do not like the vilification of less well off people for not having the opportunity to buy an EV yet. Even if the total cost of ownership is less over the life of the car, many people do not have the capital, or credit rating, to be able to afford these cars...
Our LEAF has so far cost us around £75 per month over the 8 years (61,000 miles) that we have had it when looking at depreciation and fuel costs. This is due to the crazy used car market at the moment and the fact we have never paid to charge it since we get free charging at work.
The MG4 is...
I think the article is wrong and they meant to say:
"it will now apply to car orders placed delivered by dealers between 14 June 2021 and 31 March 2023, because of extended lead times."
Fingers crossed I'm wrong though
