So basically you get 6 hours cheap rate for all electric, however you plug your supported car or charger in at any time of day, tell Octopus when you need it charged by e.g. 6am following morning, and any EV charging needed to achieve that even outside the 6 hours is done at the cheaper rate...

When you select the station you can select from local or national channels, I've found the local channels to be more reliable and, if I loose signal, it often asks me if it's ok to switch to the national channel of the same station.

Intelligent Octopus does this to a degree, and still gives you a cheap rate for everything else for 6 hours 👍🏻

There are some losses but I'd be genuinely surprised if you're actually putting more than 6.6kw into the battery as that's what the charger is limited to. Your smart meter itself (not the In Home Display) should tell you the voltage if you flick through the menus.

FYI the maximum charging rate in an MG5 is 6.6kw, because this is what the on board AC charger is rated at. Your Zappi is just a smart switch / power supply.
