    Ev charging

Is this affecting anyone else.... this morning I have seen my Hypervolt app present the message "Error establishing connection to Hypervolt server". Anyone else with this issue? So spent the morning rebooting my network, resetting connection with the car, rebooting the Hypervolt charger...

    Quasar 2 - EV Charger

LOL, so I received a response, rather than address my question regarding the Quasar they directed to the WallBox Pulsar Max . Quoting a price of £484 + VAT for the device. That price may be of interest to anyone keen to get onto Octopus intelligent but can't because of the car and...

    Quasar 2 - EV Charger

Interesting, looks like you are right. I submitted a request and it takes me to a 'ecommerce.pre.wallbox.com' login. Not sure if the form went through or not. So may be too early for direct personal enquires. I'll let you know if I hear anything

    Quasar 2 - EV Charger

Definitely 'Vehicle to Home'. The form has the 'Company' field as optional As on their site: "Power your home with your EV during peak hours to reduce bills"

    Quasar 2 - EV Charger

This looks interesting. The MG4 has V2L capability and some have wired sheds etc to take advantage of that. But this looks like a game changer, 2 birds with one stone, although that stone may be an expensive one Quasar 2 Charger with integrated V2L (your home)

Very interesting reply from my MP reference Rapid Charger fund

"Ministers aim to have "..... going by what we have seen so far.....with their strategic aiming they couldn't hit a barn door with a shovel :)

    Octopus Go

Yep, either a compatible charger or a compatible car from their list. My Hypervolt and MG4 are not on their list, so I'm not allowed in ! Quite annoying as Go is currently 9.5 overnight but intelligent is 7.5 and has a larger window too.

    Octopus Go

Yes there is winter fuel allowance, but just as what they are trialling right now (pilot groups), £1,600 payment for nothing a month for people, giving people free electricity up to a certain point would be a great benefit rather than just a bunch of cash in potentially irresponsible peoples...

    Octopus Go

Totally agree. For the life of me I can see how they can justify this current charge, its completely unfair. Yet OFGEM do nothing

    Ev charging

I don't have the same environment as you, however the installation will involve a cable run from the location of your wall box to your meter box. Inside your meter box there needs to be space for a breaker box for the charger, however that could be placed outside of that box if suitable. You...

    Octopus Go

No reduction in the standing charge for anyone is an egregious charge in my view. A real rip off

    Octopus Go

Predictions are currently a 7% drop in October followed by 1% increase in Jan next year

Indeed, the day rate means nothing to me due to solar and batteries, but the overnight in winter is the key rate for me. So in effect it looks like I will see a rate increase in Sep not a drop !

    Octopus Go

I'm on Go which is fixed until Sep this year, 39.84 daytime and 7.5 overnight. I never use the day rate. Disappointing to see they are not dropping the overnight rate too

    Volvo EX30 thoughts

As someone has said on a BMW forum: "Spoilers, despite how freakin cool they are, add aerodynamic drag and reduce range! They make sense on race cars, NOT on street cars. But again, they are freakin cool!"

    Volvo EX30 thoughts

Never said I thought that. Only stated that is Volvo's intention, not MG's at present. So you are making an assumption there only

    Volvo EX30 thoughts

Volvo looks like a nice car, but a concern for me is the app, after four years you have to pay an unknown amount to continue to use it

Guys.... we need to keep ourselves busy whilst financially independent / retired !

The car as a person - or possibly a pet

It's a hobby indeed.... I spend time balancing my solar export between my car, battery and home, plus discharging my battery to my car but ensuring I leave enough to run the home until the next day. Add planning trips (charging), thrill of driving and this forum in too and sure... it's a hobby :)

The car as a person - or possibly a pet

Mmm, if I was to name mine, i'd call it Rory 🦁. Just like a big cat it's temperamental, leaks where you don't want it to, has a soft underbelly and just like MG's customer service, can have a nasty bite.
