Ever had the car fail to go into drive/reverse?

I've had it seem to happen but I think it was just something I did wrong because pressing the brake again cleared it. I've not had to power the car off to fix it.

Soon to be MG4 owner - dumb queries!

My advice is to scream and scream until you're sick to get R33. Which I am currently doing, without having succeeded as yet. You will not have any external temperature display with R21 (bug) and quite aside from it being fairly useful to know whether you're likely to be encountering any water in...

No. It might LOOK tidier, but this is super-easy to do.

    MG4 vs ID3

I came from a Golf, a year ago. When I started to look around for an EV to replace the Golf (which was a great car) my initial thought was to look for an equivalent VW EV. But the price scared the pants off me, and I quickly realised from the reviews I watched that the pretty new MG4 was not...

Issue with AC charging/New CCU fitted (Phase One SE LR)

You've probably read the trouble the first people to encounter the problem had. If it's any comfort, at least it's now a well-trodden path, and the necessary parts seem now to be readily available. It's possible your dealer has already dealt with someone else who had the problem.

    Sleeping in MG4 [merged thread]

Up on the moor at one in the morning, getting sleepy and with aurora-watching snacks in the car, I felt that if I'd had the gear with me (airbed, sleeping bag and so on) I could have quite happily curled up in the back and slept. I think the car is very comfortable, and it's the ability to run...

Issue with AC charging/New CCU fitted (Phase One SE LR)

Oh dear. You could try cutting to the chase and going straight to your dealer with the diagnosis. At least if it is this issue, you know it has a fix. Welcome to the forum, by the way. Just sorry we're not meeting under happier circumstances.

    My Ownership Log: MG4 Trophy

I was given the option of saying yes or no to a car wash. I said no. The car was presented pretty clean except for a streaked windscreen acquired on the way to the dealer which neatly illustrated the issue with the washer jets I had asked them to look at. They washed the car anyway, and didn't...

There are threads specifically about VtL that might have the answer to that. There's one where a bunch of Aussies seem to be talking a completely foreign language...

MG i SMART app remote control instruction failed please try again later

I think if you only check on the car once a week it will have gone to sleep and won't respond. In normal use I have found that if I go into the room in the house which is through the wall from the attached garage and press unlock on the key fob, it will wake the car and then it starts...

MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

This afternoon about 2.20. White SE travelling north on the A702 at Flotterstone. I was in the blue SE travelling south. I waved but I don't think the driver saw me.

    Sleeping in MG4 [merged thread]

I took a couple of pictures of the blackout curtains fitted over the headlights. Here's a picture of the whole of the front of the car. And here's a close-up of one side. Fitting them is incredibly simple. Just lay them in position and let the wee magnets do their thing. As @brem93 said...

MG i SMART app remote control instruction failed please try again later

There have been various discussions about this, with the consensus being that it's best to let the car sleep undisturbed. If you keep waking it you could drain the 12v. Possibly. Maybe. But mainly, sometimes the cars fall asleep quite quickly and you'd need to wake it often to counteract this...

    MG4, not a good car.

There is absolutely no evidence at all that two different people didn't just happen to appear at the same time looking for help with their problems. If you believe this is a sock-puppet situation, report the posts rather than making public accusations, and let the admin look into it.

    Replacement tyres

A forum search on "Tyres" produced this lot. https://www.mgevs.com/search/1338330/?q=tyres&t=post&c[child_nodes]=1&c[nodes][0]=38&c[title_only]=1&o=date&g=1 The thread I found most useful myself was this one. https://www.mgevs.com/threads/best-all-season-tyres-for-mg4.13397/

    MG4, not a good car.

Of course. I think most of us can tell the difference between a troll and someone genuinely upset because of problems with their car. We've had a couple of disgruntled ex owners perpetually rubbishing the cars across multiple threads and raining on the parades of delighted new owners, but we do...

    MG4 Battery Degradation

I don't really understand how it works. I was told my battery is at 100% at the one year check, although I'm not sure if I believe that. I decided to do a <10% to 100% charge at the end of last week and went down to 6% on Friday. However I interrupted the charge three times to go aurora...

Yeah, that's not an infotainment issue, it's something else that fixes that.

    MG4, not a good car.

I'm sitting here in the dealership hoping that THIS time they will install R33, having just had a damn good vent about the unfriendly, unhelpful and downright obstructive attitude of some of their staff. I told them that I really really love my car, and if they've got a basically satisfied...
