You look like you were right on the point where a month of Tesla subscription would have paid for itself.

Given your options I would choose 2 (and I'm an SE SR owner!).

Issue with AC charging/New CCU fitted (Phase One SE LR)

Also try and establish how long it charges for before it fails. Some dealers have just plugged it in saw it works and said there's no problem! If you know it takes about x minutes you can ask them how long it was plugged in for.

    Balance is crucial?

Don't worry about it - charge it to 100% before you leave and if you can find an overnight AC charger at some point on your trip take the opportunity to do an overnight balance charge whenever you can. AC charging is normally cheaper than rapid DC CCS so make sure you have a suitable type 2...

    MG4, not a good car.

Don't assume that any so called superior brands will be any better - I pulled in to Stafford Ionity last year and there was a new Porsche Taycan and a Peugeot e208 (that had been picked up that morning) completely dead waiting to be recovered.

Issue with AC charging/New CCU fitted (Phase One SE LR)

It certainly does seem a bit likely that they will all fail - let's just hope that the replacements are much more reliable.

Issue with AC charging/New CCU fitted (Phase One SE LR)

Probably fairly simple for the dealers to do but as regards cost - no idea as they are all still under warranty. Get it booked in to the dealer to sort but ensure you have plenty of evidence e.g. tried other AC chargers including granny charger and same problem occurs on all of them. @Rolfe -...

Assuming it hasn't got the rear wiper and is a 3 phase car check the thread that goes through the failing CCUs on this model, as it sounds like your is going the same way. https://www.mgevs.com/threads/issue-with-ac-charging-new-ccu-fitted-phase-one-se-lr.14233/unread Dealer will probably try...

Have a look at the Tesla open to all as they are reliable and significantly cheaper than the others and it may even be worth paying £9 for a month subscription and getting the discount to make them even cheaper.
