What would make public charging better for you..?

They have a coffee shop! That's why I use the Genie Point 50kw when I'm in Bridlington. Morrisons have the only rapid charger in town.

What would make public charging better for you..?

I've used the MFG at Buntingford. My home town of nearly 40k people has 4 petrol stations. 2 Shell, 1 Sainsburys and 1 Tesco. I wouldn't be surprised if one Shell closed down. 3 have closed down in the last 10 years.

What would make public charging better for you..?

With the speed the petrol stations keep closing that may not help! I think large supermarkets should be encouraged to cover their roofs in PV and provide a few charging ports.

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

If its any help I have a facelift MG5 as a company car and before that a Pre-Facelift 5. I also have a HS on loan whilst the stupid tyre pressure sensors are fixed and all three cars have pretty good LKA even on country lanes. Assuming the same person programmed the new MG4 software ;P

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

Adaptive Cruise Control - automatically matches the speed of the car ahead of you. Traffic Jam Assist - As above but at slow speeds, generally requires you to press the accelerator or cruise control button to start from a standstill. Autonomus Emergency Braking - Beeps at you then jams the...

Test Drive when buying via Salary Sacrifice

Morally you could argue it is a bit iffy, but that has never stopped me! Until I got the company car I've spent the last 18 years leasing vehicles, I book a test drive, drive it like I've stolen it then I listen to the spiel, I get prices to set my mind at ease I am getting a good deal then I...

What would make public charging better for you..?

Wouldn't the towing zones get clogged up by non towing cars when the place is busy? Wouldn't an adjacent towing parking zone maybe with an attendant controlled lock be more efficient.

What would make public charging better for you..?

How about an electric tyre pump and some screen wash/water and a squeegy to get the bugs off your screen? I know a full pressure wash system at the charger unit is a bit unlikely due to water and electricity being slightly too friendly but a low pressure trickle is plenty to do the windows...

    MG4 Detailing Thread - Other Models/Marques welcome!

Meguirs Perfect Clarity on order now. Thanks for the suggestion, amazon a few quid cheaper than ABD where I normally buy cleaning stuff. Chainsaw not quite as subtle as I was aiming for, would be 100% effective. Also shouldn't it be a battery powered one for this forum?

    MG4 Detailing Thread - Other Models/Marques welcome!

I've used Autoglym products for years but I've heard good things about Maguires. Is there much of a difference? Also I have just finished my Autoglym Fast Glass, any recommendations for a replacement. Second recommendation request, the council have a knarled old Maytree on the verge by our drive...

Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

I was taught to leave a 2 second gap, but I was also taught to look as far up the road as possible to anticipate what the cars in front do. If you are in a tunnel with no pedestrians and you can see clear road you aren't going to anticipate the car in front coming to a complete stop. I'd say...

Folding Mirrors - am I being thick?

I had to spec folding mirrors on my '07 A3, '14 Focus ST and I think on my '18 Leon. Its all because of the new rigorous WLTP figures, every addition has to be tested and due to cost and time taken (I'm told test centers are not that common) they don't want to test every possible combination so...

    Car or computer

The car chassis might be OK, the shell of the car would be dependent on the maintenance regime of the owner and local road conditions, but the bit I'd be concerned about with any car EV or ICE is how the computer components will bear up with the outside conditions, heat and damp aren't friendly...

    MG4 Restricted speed - weird

Try a cheap dash cam fixed inside so you don't have to remember to start the recording or mess about when your on the road.

    New small Tesla

The Missus Puma has just arrived, great little car, it is simultaneously big and small. The Fiesta is now about 150mm shorter than a Focus so not really that small anymore!

Car Froze unable to exit car!!

How do you get in the boot if you have two kids car seats in the rear? I can barely move the rear passenger seat the thing is so big, I only have one to worry about but two car seats in the back is a fairly common sight. I can't see it being possible to remove a car seat from inside as a...

Cancel MG4 Trophy and go for Megane E-Tech?

I think journalists get the car they are given, like it or lump it. Your Top Gears might get a choice but I think even then they get given the same car as I have heard of complaints from motoring journos that Top Gear broke the car before they got it so they had nothing to review.
