    7 year warranty.....?

Trust me not the check. Last time I bought a battery, for an ICE vehicle, it was in the £20s delivered, about 4 years ago. Seems a 55Ah is now about £50 delivered. On the other hand the nearest dealers to me are over an hour away, so that's probably half a day gone.

    7 year warranty.....?

I'm talking about the traction battery, not the 12V. It's only about £20 for a new 12V, and five minutes of your time to fit it, so not worth the time to go to the dealer.

Not so “great news about your vehicle “

You can charge LFP (short range) batteries to 100% as much as you like but NMC is best only charged to 80%, unless you are going to use it for a long journey straight away. However, NMC should be slow charged to 100%, periodically, to allow for cell balancing.

    7 year warranty.....?

Are these items given better cover with other brands?

    7 year warranty.....?

The short warranty items are mainly consumables, like wiper blades. The important, and potentially very costly items, such as body perforation and the battery, are covered for much longer.

Should I replace my PR-FL excite with a new MG5 (probably SE)??

But see the thread about upgrades to use Tesla chargers.

The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

I did my "standard" 15 mile round trip to the nearest town and back via the builders merchant, yesterday, and got over 5m/kWh without even trying. Normal mode and I only put KERS on 3 for the last 5 miles because there are a couple of useful bits of downhill bits. The downside was I put the...

Not so “great news about your vehicle “

I've seen a couple of videos, fairly recently, looking at EV depreciation rates and MGs didn't feature in the "top ten" IIRC.

    Binding second hand 2021 model

Yes, I just had a look through the manual and can confirm there is no timer facility. You could always try the universal panacea of disconnecting the 12V battery for a minute and reconnecting. It cures all manner of ills. It certainly cleared the problem when my granny charger refused to play ball.

    Binding second hand 2021 model

You'll need to get an IOG compatible charger as PFL cars can't use the MG app.

I also bought a dongle, recommended here, and had no luck with the battery SOH.

Normal tyre wear after 18k miles?

When the time come I intend to fit Hankooks, because of the low noise rating, as they don't seem to compromise on rolling resistance or wet grip. Let us know how they fare.

    VOTE TESLA SUPERCHARGES with MG5

Never tried a Supercharger, how expensive are they? Cheaper than nearly every other network. Depends on time of use, though. There are usually three price bands over the day. If you use them very regularly then it may be worth joining Tesla for the cheapest rates. If you just use a contactless...

Check your front doors drain holes

Well, it prompted me to check my car and, sure enough, front doors drains taped but not the rears. No water in the doors, though, which is surprising, living in wet Wales.

The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

I went for a 65 mile blat round the mountains, on Friday evening, to make room for the paid-to-use electricity on Agile yesterday, in sport mode and with enthusiasm and was mildly "disappointed" to still achieve over 3.5mi/kWh. Still, I earned over a quid filling it up again.

I know that 100% battery and KERS is impossible, but...

I was just watching a technical video on home batteries that may shed some light. When a battery, or stack of batteries, is charging, if just one cell reaches the maximum voltage cut-off value then charging will stop and the SOC will show as 100%, even though the SOC meter was showing, say, 94%...
