Traffic Jam Assist vs Adaptive Cruise Control

They sort of are - but traffic jam assist will do low speed following of the car in front, obviously when in traffic. ACC is the same technology but for more general driving. It’s possible they use different criteria and/or software setting but same ACC radar. At least that’s my experience of them.

Any one using ABRP with a OBDII

I’ll plug that into the values I collected - much simpler that a polynomial representation 🤔

Any one using ABRP with a OBDII

I mapped a load of charging and discharging data points for OBD SoC and car's displayed SoC and Excel generated approximate formula (for ABRP but not implemented yet) - not sure if you were able to use additional values obtained from the car to get more accurate values. Polynomial : y =...

Things are not always what they seem! (EV etiquette)

Nah - most don’t so a moot point. But, I think legally they all should. You’re essentially in a contract with provider whilst charging, once you reach 100% then I see that as an end stage where your car should release the leased connector. Just an opinion though 🤷‍♂️

Things are not always what they seem! (EV etiquette)

If someone’s car was at 100% and unattended, and I was able to unplug, I absolutely would - in the highly unlikely event that my car was in this situation, I’d be happy for someone else to unplug me. If damage was caused, whether due to unplugging or bashed in a carpark, etc - I’d rightly be...

Aftermarket rear view camera ZS EV 2020

All UK spec have them (I think) - but from @Melvinvossen signature, they're in Netherlands so specification might be different. Surely there will be an OEM camera which should be able to essentially plug and play - assuming the wiring loom is in place to the rear of the car. Guess it all...

All MG EVs should be recalled because of the charging problems

All MG EVs should be recalled because of the charging problems

I have a September 2021 MG5LR and had software updates applied last week to improved charging with Rapid Chargers - and it was AS-22-025 I explicitly mentioned when speaking to the Service Manager. At least one other owner of an MG5LR has had these applied too (at the same dealer). Note sure...

Bricked at the charger - should there be a nationwide recall?

Get your point, and I’m not defending MG as don’t really have any real opinion on this either way - especially since my has been updated! The first scenario you mention is similar to the letter MG sent about the MG5LR KERS3 brake lights - which was a safety recall. No idea if they sent letters...

Bricked at the charger - should there be a nationwide recall?

Agree with your point about recalls only happening if any manufacturer has no other option due to cost implications. In all fairness to MG, Miles mentioned on the podcast that MG has authorised AS-22028 to allow dealers to charge the cost of the AS-22-025 update to MG. So, not a recall but it...

Bricked at the charger - should there be a nationwide recall?

Possibly due to none of the charging issues being deemed a safety issue - such as the recalls for the MG5SR roof rail rating or MG5LR KERS 3 brake lights. The issue of some cars having a compatibility issue with some DC chargers seems to be impacting a small percentage of the user base - might...

Bricked at the charger - should there be a nationwide recall?

This should be the details needed when enquiring at dealer about updates https://www.mgevs.com/threads/hv-battery-shutoff-when-initiating-rapid-charge-vehicle-control-system-fault.84/page-10#post-93376

    Slow charging

Worth checking the app setting to make sure you’re using Boost Mode rather than one of the Eco modes Also check the Energy Usage & Analytics pages, should show the kWh used for a period of time to let you see if car is reporting differently from expected. Failing that, Hypervolt support have...

Planned Long Journey with MG ZS EV 2020

That’s pretty much my charge stops heading Glasgow to north wales (MG5LR with roofbox) - although might try Westmorland Rheged Centre rather than Southwaite for a change but MFG Crow Orchard is an essential. Coming home I’ll probably do Tesla Flint Mountain before hitting up Burton-in-Kendal and...

    Adaptive cruise control

I don’t thin either version of the ZS do - check to see if the power meter goes into the charging section but pretty sure it doesn’t. Yes - the MG5 needed a software update but the ZS apparently already showed brake lights where appropriate Are you sure? The MG5 does on ACC but not the ZS.

All MG EVs should be recalled because of the charging problems

I suspect you’re confusing equality with vulnerability here. When a man is “equally” likely to be attacked and/or killed when broken down then the recovery services can stop prioritising as you suggest.

    Gridserve Transition Completed

There is also a new sticker added to the units which support dual charging. As for replacing all the Ecotricity units - I think that's just on motorways. Annoyingly, there are still some around North Wales where rapids are a little short in supply. I am looking forward to trying out the...

So OTA update is a lie?

It's all down to money I guess - anyone who compares an MG and it's software development capabilities to someone like Tesla, VW, BMW, etc are essentially comparing a top tier Apple phone to a generic, third-party Android device (certainly with the Gen 1 ZS and 5). There definitely seemed to be...
