This forum is for the PHEV version of the hs, there will not be many petrol owners here. I suggest posting on the MG HS facebook page which has a much larger community of petrol HS owners and may be able to advise you.
Hi,
The issue is to do with the leather part of the dashboard;
In hot weather, it offgasses chemicles that end up on the windscreen.
Some have used dashboard covers that the claim solves this problem, however i stick to a occasionally using window wipes or microfibre + autoglym fastglass...
Spot on, gets way bouncy sometimes, but without expensive and prone to failure electronic variable dampers i don't know how the refined motorway driving could be maintained while solving this.
People are saying 40 mpg like its bad?? Id love to hear of any medium-large petrol/hybrid SUV that...
The MG HS has a DC-DC converter and can charge the 12v with the HV battery. This is easy to test, While moving your seat forwards/backwards, power up the vehicle. You will notice the seat moves faster as the DC-DC converter turns on.
Your 12V battery low is more likely to do with the vehicle...
No, it's so air does not mix with the ethanol in the fuel causing water to get in the fuel. This is done as many can use the phev without touching the ICE for months at a time.
MG HS PHEV is a great car; more luxurious than the ZS and more comfortable. Proving you can charge it every night on cheep leccy, it will do you well in summer, but will cost more in winter due to the silly engine/heat arrangements.
Just an FYI - someone on this forum has the DAB files that can fix that issue if it a software corruption as it is sometimes - if its a faulty hardware module, good luck.
Can you upgrade the headlights to LED? Yes (though it is illegal and may fail an mot, if you aim the bulbs correctly this is unlikely to be an issue). It is a HB3 bulb, a LED replacement would be one like this novsight example (https://amzn.eu/d/9ysqq1U) Upgrading the indicators would...
The gearbox is really weird as you say - It seems more speed based then load based - Im guessing it has something to do with how the 2 separate gearboxes need to negotiate with each other.
HI there. Been using toughleads.co.uk EV extension lead(s) for the longest of times, even got a custom one in orange. Great people to deal with, and a extension lead that fits the bill.
Current rating of cable is depending on conductor size (Duh) and the insulation rating. The higher...
There is some great advise on this forum for the phev, but to summarize:
-All heat comes from the engine. If you ever had a cold spell, the engine needs to run to heat the cabin
-In EV mode, there is a small delay around 50MPH (80Km/h) when the EV gearbox goes from 3rd to 4th. This is normal...
Never had this issue. Fun fact, i actually had windshield wiper fluid leaking in the boot for about 2 weeks due to tipping over without me noticing, Still didn't have any moisture issues.
My guesses as to what is wrong:
You are trying to use EV mode in the Winter, which is just a bad idea
You...
Could things to try could be try putting the postcode in with/without the space. OTher than that you could try the naviextras update but based on you saying its not a new build, i'm pessimistic if that would actually add it. Another thing you could try to expand on the comment made is try...
Front camera covered warning only come on after the camera has been covered for a prolonged period of time as it deactivates many of the safety features. It also has a audible tone. Main beam unavailable will come on as soon as the camera is misted or fogged, and has no audible tone. Mine has...
That text is there on all HS's with a 2.5PM filter. It's just telling you that option is installed, not that it needs servicing (though it should really be changed every year as the activated carbon loses its ability to neutralize VOC's)
