    LKA useful or a hindrance

MG do have a physical button for LKA on the HS (Maybe MG5 gen1 too) on the end of the stalk. They have gone backwards in this world of everything controlled via a screen nonsense

Hill/handbrake assist. Is there any point in the electric handbrake button?

It's worth noting that the EPC is also the emergency brake - holding it up will apply the handbrake.. well at least it does on other MG models. The being said, dual hydraulic brake system failure is extremely rare. Edit, just checked the MG4 manual, it does say this on page 192

    Ready ?... for what ?

Ready means that all the cars systems have started and you can start your journey

    Speakers!?

Rear speakers are definitely just for the rear passengers - They make the sounds for all occupants more rich and surrounding Mg has been at this a long time, as far as i'm aware, on all of their current models they do it.

Emergency braking on level crossing with no nearby cars

Dashcam recording audio would do it id imagine Very interesting - The tesla vision system (fully camera based) seems to have a huge advantage over the antiquated system in other cars - volvo first introduced the current radar based system in 2009! I suppose the vision system in the tesla can...

    Cruise control

I apologize for my snarky comment earlier - was being stupid As you say, best of both worlds would be giving the driver the choice I would trial it in your Cupra though, even if you never try it again - on the right roads (dual carriageway, motorway and major A roads) it makes for quite a...

    Cruise control

Its to my constant dismay that ACC didn't become prevalent sooner. In my old XF with standard cruise, it was basically useless on most journeys; we don't travel at midnight so traffic exists on the motorways, meaning that you were constantly playing with buttons to follow the traffic (keeping at...

    MG4 Windows dropping?

I was going to suggest the key being pressed but this seems like a different issue if its only 1 window going down. Surely if the button was being pressed when getting out you would hear the window moving

11kw 3 phase charging ion UK Trophy

3 Phase supply is extremely common with most chargers in my experience. 10 out of the 12 AC chargers i've used out and about have been 3 phase, Most 22KW, some 11KW. Its also worth noting if you are a taxi driver who does local runs (there is one on here) Getting a 3 phase, 22KW charger...

    Loss of Internet Trophy MG4

All MG4's and gen2 ZS EVS, MG5s in the UK will have a sim. How else will the mobile app work from a distance.

    Live & Connected Services Expiry.

5G doesn't, and is not intended to replace 4G. 5G (As in, 5G NR, not the 4G+ thats badged as 5G by carriers) is an auxiliary band used for very high data speeds in a short range, such as in city environments and home internet. At the moment, 5G can't even be used without a 4G connection present...

    MG4 Reduction Gearbox Oil Leak

Hold on, let's not forget about something here - Cooling, I'd imagine the motor is connected to the cooling system of the vehicle. It's possible that there's some sort of gasket leak, which leads to coolent getting into the drive transmission oil?

    MG4 Reduction Gearbox Oil Leak

Brilliantly written response to that silly comment. Was thinking just the same thing. I think anyone is going to be a little concerned when Facebook groups and forums are littered of oil leaks on there new (ironically electric) car. Even more so when you combine that with the Vehicle system...

MG4 - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and MG Pilot

Weird. They must have gone to a different system on the MG4? I know the ZS, MG5 and HS use a Mobileye + Bosch system, anyone know what the MG4 is using, or is it just poor calibration?

MG4 - Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and MG Pilot

I do not have an MG4, and someone may be able to help you better That being said, if you enable an option called "TJA" in the driver assistance settings of the MG4, it does have the ability to lane center on a motorway (Light bends) and follow a car in stop and go traffic. This works well on...

    which home charger?

Octopus use the cars API to control charge using data given about the SOC. I only normally see Rapids getting SOC data via the cable, because those have a direct connection to the cars battery The Control Pilot (CP) line is used by the vehicle's On-Board Charger (OBC) and the EVSE to...

    which home charger?

Many new EV's have a API available. This allows the car to speak to an AC charger and say among other things "hey, im at 45%" Without this API, the charger does not know how charged the car is, so you are limited in how you can program that charger. Integration describes how well the different...

MG4 - First UK dealer hands on photos and specifications

I don't really care about a reversing camera - I'd prefer sensors. The 360 camera is loads more useful to me though. really helps with tight parking spaces.

MG4 - First UK dealer hands on photos and specifications

Heat pumps work well in climates like the uk; Cold, but not so cold where the cop falls to a level where the energy savings get negligible, or the heat pump is unable to work properly. Regarding the extra expense: The car already has an air conditioner, so already has the inverter compressor...
